The rod holders actually work on this raft and I have no fear of loosing a pole. Just remove the inner sleeve and adjust onto your rod, then place into the holder firmly. If you have your drag set proper then you will be fine, if you do by chance loose a pole it was your fault-you can attach a line to it.Hard floors are best for going fast with an outboard motor. They don’t flex and are stable. They do require an extra few minutes to set up, but once you get into it, it’s not that bad. Just make sure your trunk is big enough to put them in when disassembled, if you plan on moving it around of course.
