About this deal

Before I start, I suppose I should explain what a Fuggler actually is, in short – hideous. He is a incredibly ugly monster that arrived in his own little house box which he’d managed to destroy en route. I was confused as to why he arrived with a tooth brush and toothpaste (not sure he’s been using them, but whatever!) and weirdly some gaffer tape – but after spotting his scary gnashers I understood the toothbrush – and later in the day, I found out why he had the gaffer tape. The cocoons start as clear, then turn white, yellow, and finally reddish-brown when ready to hatch. After the pupa matures, the worm is ready to come into the soil as a hatchling. This process is about 23 days. As long as all of the conditions are correctly met, the earthworm should start to peek its head out. Items that are not available in store will take 3-5 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays) to be delivered to your nominated store. And it worked. It turns out that Fugglers don’t like adults, what with all their rules and how incredibly uncool they are and after a while I found Charlie and Barry settling into early teen life. They enjoyed chilling out playing Xbox together and Barry turns out to be quite the whizz at Fortnight apparently. I asked Charlie if he could have a word with Barry about his behaviour and he did, so I have let Barry stay with us as Charlie has really found a great buddy in old Bazza. Red Wigglers need oxygen to survive; they produce carbon dioxide like most other land animals. They digest the oxygen molecules through their skin, so they can also survive underwater for a time as long as the water is well oxygenated. Otherwise, they can drown. But having moist bedding can help the worms breathe a little better.

Turns out, hide and seek is no fun if the humans are too scared to look for you so she soon made her presence known.

Now that we know precisely how to identify the red wiggler, what does the red Wiggler do and why is it so special? We will get to that later, but first, there are a few more things to consider with the Red Wiggler. The Red Wiggler is one of the few earthworms that produces the exact chemical makeup that the soil needs. The Worm Castings contain abundant amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. The Red worm also lives topside and eats rotting vegetable scraps that we don’t eat. Despite their appearance and their mischievous spirit, there’s nothing you’ll really regret about welcoming a Fuggler into your life and into your family. The kids will love them…once they’ve got past their unique looks. I mean, you’re no oil painting yourself, but I bet your kids love you. You put your fuzzy slippers on and head to the kitchen for some tea. After putting on the kettle, you pull out your phone again. The Red Wiggler will consume up to half of its weight in nitrogen (food waste) and paper or leaves (carbon) daily. The feeding ratio for food scraps is 2:1 per worm. If you have one pound of red worms, then you need ½ of a pound of food per day. Don’t over-science it though. Start with smaller amounts of food and increase servings until you find the right balance. The Laboratory Misfits Edition is the newest launch from the plush brand and is made up of ten new Fugglers.

You’ll even get an adoption certificate just to prove you really are brave enough to take on the responsibility. I am presuming in a Toy Story style revolt against this new beast taking up residence, the toys staged a protest and put their toughest men on the front line. Unfortunately, Barry chewed up the Ultimate Warrior and Razor Ramone out of the WWE and yep, you guessed it, used his gaffer tape that I was bamboozled by. He will keep on eating and eating and eating For reasons of hygiene and safety, personal grooming products, cosmetics or items of intimate clothing cannot be returned. You can grow your red wigglers. Red wigglers will reproduce every 90 days and double their occupancy. You need to have adequate space and food for them to reproduce, and there are no dominant traits to take into consideration. If possible, you want to try and keep your worms away from the filter that you are going to be using to get the worm castings out of the soil. You can filter as much out as you want to filter out. Pour out your soil onto your screen, sift it side to side, the bigger chunks will stay on top of the screen, while the worm castings will fall through to the bottom. This method is known as the side-to-side method; you could also use the tap method to clear out the worm castings as well. The day Fuggler arrived we weren’t even home, we’d headed out to a local beach totally unaware that a mystery parcel was waiting for us. Although it can be tempting to throw all of your food waste into the composting bin, it will undoubtedly lead to a disaster. You want to feed your worm’s organic material. This concept means that you supply the worms uncooked things that grew naturally, or you feed them things that are cooked, but with no additives or preservatives. Red wigglers live above the soil or in the top layers of the earth at the very least. They thrive in decomposing vegetation and manure. The Red Wiggler is a species in the earthworm family. Looking similar to their cousin, they are often confused with other earthworms such as the European Nightcrawler, or Eisenia Hortensis. Unwanted Food or Drink Products - Once supply conditions are broken, there are a number of factors outside of our control that can affect the quality of a product. Therefore perishable goods such as food and drink cannot be returned. Compost worms typically do not surface often unless something is out of balance in the bedding. If you see your worms surfacing a lot, then something in the soil may be causing this drastic change. The bin could be too alkaline or acidic or have too high moisture content.

Fugglers were founded in 2010 by a British woman known as Mrs. McGettric, who created the concept after encountering individual denture teeth and envisioning them as looking funny on teddy bears.

17. Howling at this one

The Fuggler brand has grown an impressive fan base since it was first released in 2010, and we are expecting the Laboratory Misfit Edition to be incredibly popular,” commented Andrew Turner, head of Marketing at The Entertainer. “As such a fun, unique toy, we’re thrilled to be adding 10 new, perfectly imperfect faces to our existing collections and hope Fuggler fans, big and small, will enjoy the all-new range.”

If you’re not familiar with Fugglers then, be prepared to fall in love with these funny, ugly, toothy monsters from Spin Master.

5. Love it.

Having recently adopted a new family pet in our lovely cat Louie, I have absolutely adored having a new addition to the family; the same can’t be said when Charlie was recently sent a Fuggler to live in our house. Charlie could not wait to meet his new pal but I opened the box with trepidation of this hideous new beast that was going to be sleeping under our roof. Charlie is almost ten and he’s showing a few signs of turning into a full-blown grumpy teenager already so I felt that adopting a Fuggler could potentially be like lighting a fuse and creating as rather gruesome twosome – and I was right. The Red Wiggler will also produce castings that can be used to add nutrients to the soil. These castings are available as soon as the worm processes the organic material. You would then need to add bedding, the correct amount of food, and worms. Be careful not to overcrowd your worms in the beginning. For guidance, read Vermicomposting: How Many Worms Are Needed? What is a Red Wiggler? Unfortunately, our Fuggler didn’t want to wait around for us to get home and so let herself out of the box. For the most part, you don’t have to worry if your worm population outgrows your farm. In many cases, the older, weaker worms will die off and make room for the younger worms. The more immature worms will eat their weight, as juvenile worms require more nutrients than the older worms will.
