Cleaned the shell, touched in some of the paint, lacquered, wet sanded and polished before waxing. I wanted to keep the "patina" - warts and all! wheel independent suspension features front double trailing arm and rear swing axle setups, die-cast suspension arms, and oil dampers. Of the others mentions these I think are the ones that interest me, i don't want it getting too involved Also I would be interested in Alloy rims for her, can someone point me in the right directions as to where to find these? I'm hoping to be able to tap into the strong following for the brand here in Hong Kong, so I hope I can find most items locally. It was going to be candy apple red, and I remember me and my dad went to this proper bikers custom paint shop to get the paint. It needed a gold base coat which was fine but the flake in the red was so big it wouldn't go through dads spray gun - so it ended up white and red!I'm determined to use this SS as a runner - this is why my folks bought it for me, so I want to honour that! But I want to preserve the shell so have bought a rere shell that i'll paint and will use that for running. Tamiya is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Sand Scorcher with an improved re-release of the model. The new improvements include more fine tuned parts. Just as the original, the updated Sand Scorcher features ribbed front tires and paddle rear tires. Since the Sand Scorcher and the Buggy Champ use the same chassis, the spare parts are interchangeable. Still a couple of bits to do - I need to make a sunroof, and will fit the exhaust from the rere bodyshell I have.Unfortunately the front bumper broke - on inspection it was carrying a very old injury! So I made one out of aluminium. I'd also read that the chassis flex can stress the shell so I made a strengthening plate out of ally, and shaped it so it matches the sills on the shell. I'm really pleased with it Ball diff. I understand this will help improve handling, but that about all I know. How on earth do you fit it and where can the parts be found? I'd really like to fit it, but I'm a little lost on this one at the moment so any insight here would be great.

Following on from the release of the 30th anniversary Rough Rider, Tamiya is now proud to announce the imminent re-release their classic Sand Scorcher. This model realistically reproduces the unique form of the buggy which was seen at the one-make race at "Baja 1000" in California, USA. Re: the sport tuned motor, I have the RZ motor ( I believe this is the higher revving motor compared to the other which low RPM but higher torque) for my Dark Impact build. Would the standard set-up take the extra power of the RZ or should i go for the RT motor instead? I have a feeling it might not be that simple, but I thought I'd ask... The Tamiya Sand Scorcher is to be reintroduced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of the original Sand Scorcher with an improved re-release of the radio control car model.Horizontal bar, that make sense too. Where do I get one from and is it a drop in fit or will a little modding be needed? Originally released in 1979, the R/C Sand Scorcher was greatly received from fans around the world with its humorous form and superb mechanism.
