The contents of this document and the specifications of the product could be changed without notice.

I also wasn't exactly sure how the preamp models should be used. It seemed strange to me to put a preamp in front of an amp/cab sim, but some of the presets definitely did that, and I mean there's really no "rules." If it sounds good, it sounds good. I might just be too mired in old analog thinking of "Bass into amp/cab." I mean who knows, maybe a preamp into an amp/cab and running one of the DI models might produce something cool. I haven't tried yet. The presets also serve as a great way to learn the unit by analyzing them and seeing what's running verses what you're hearing. I remember one preset that was running the pitch shifter module but not actually doing any pitch shifting, but the unit itself definitely drastically changed the tone just being on. Another one used that same unit with a pitch shift of 1 cent to get a pretty good "With A Little Help From My Friends" sound. I never would have thought to use it in those ways. If your pedal chain has more than three options and you will be activating and deactivating various pedals throughout the performance, I can see it being a pain. Easier to swap between presets than to activate and deactivate stuff. Haven’t really run into that myself but as I’ve been messing around it’s been on my mind. A variety of clean and overdriven preamp selections are on offer, allowing the pedal to cover a wide range of sonic options, and a collection of 250 presets are included to help users dive into classic tones from the 50s through to the modern day straight out of the box. A total of 104 built-in effects are provided, with users able to run any five of them simultaneously, and all-in-one jamming capabilities are provided by its on-board 60-second looper and rhythm machine equipped with 68 beats. The compressors are...odd. I debated mentioning it because I can't really articulate what I don't like about them. I'm just not fond of them.

Then, I was having some sound issues with one of my basses. Be it the bass itself or the location of the speaker or Tzeench toying with my destiny, whatever the root cause I eventually created my own presets for each of my guitars to correct the issue while making each one sound as good as I can make it sound on my setup in my space. The bypass switch is great for when I need to tweak the raw sound coming out of the bass or when I want to just use the dedicated compressor pedal. Lots of simulated pedals to play with. Saves a bunch of money, especially when you’re as indecisive as I am. You might need this manual in the future. Always keep it in a place where you can access it easily. Some of the presets that are obviously trying to recreate certain sounds are…wishful thinking at best. For example: the "GoodTimes1979" preset sounds less like Chic and more like "booming muddy mess". Following on from the recent release of the G2 Four and G2X Four units, Zoom have announced the upcoming launch of the B2 Four, a multi-effects and amp simulator pedal designed specifically for bassists that combines features derived from their flagship B6 processor ( reviewed in the August 2022 issue of SOS) with their latest Multi-Layer IR modelling technology. Amp Simulation It has a balanced XLR output and a ground lift switch on the rear panel, so connectivity is also good. Plus, an Aux in for jamming along to external sources and USB for updates and communication with the Guitar Lab software and it will act as a 2 in/2 out interface to your DAW. Finally, there is an expression pedal connection as well, so you can expand the control option somewhat.

One of the standout features of the B2 FOUR is Zoom's innovative Multi-Layer IR technology. This technology replicates the iconic tonal characteristics of playing through classic amps and cabinets. Its impulse responses are captured from cabinets at three different levels, and it's all activated based on your bass's volume level. You'll be amazed at the sound you can achieve with this cutting-edge technology. Features Patch memories store effects and amps used, effect on/off states and parameter setting values, allowing easy recall. Effects are saved and recalled in units of patch memories. Up to 5 effects can be added to a patch memory, and up to 300 patch memories can be stored. Effect type I wanted to get started with a pedal board. I watched all kinds of YouTube videos and blog posts about which pedals to get first and what pedals EVERY BASS PLAYER NEEDS to the point that I had overloaded myself with information and wound up just buying a tuning pedal and later a compressor pedal.

The expression pedal, which is used for volume pedal and wah operations, is not equipped. You’ll need to connect a separately sold pedal. Considering that few players use it, and to reduce costs and maintain a compact size, it’s understandable. Comparison with B6 Specification If an expression pedal is being used to adjust the volume, adjust the pedal position until the volume level is suitable. There aren’t many bass-specific multi-effects pedals available today. ZOOM offers the B6, B3, B1 series, and now the B2 FOUR. Currently, BOSS only has the GT-1B. Some products include bass effects within guitar multi-effects pedals. However, bass-specific ones offer a richer tone optimized for bass, providing ease of use and reassurance. Easy-to-understand operability

For intermediate and advanced players, there might be some who think, “My main board is large and cumbersome to carry, so I don’t want to add more gear for light rehearsals or practice sessions.” Despite its compact size that fits in a case, the B2 FOUR offers sound quality equivalent to higher-end models, making it fully capable for rehearsals.

Then, as mentioned in another thread, I was having some sound issues with one of my basses. Be it the bass itself or the location of the speaker or Tzeench toying with my destiny, whatever the root cause I eventually created my own presets for each of my guitars to correct the issue while making each one sound as good as I can make it sound on my setup in my space. Considering the maximum number of simultaneous effects and the number of footswitches, if you often combine multiple effects or switch tones during a song, B6 would be a better choice. Conclusion B2 FOUR is recommended for first-time bass effect users or as a secondary unit. Dies ist mein erstes Effektgerät und ich spiele erst seit ca sechs Monaten Bass, habe jedoch 20 Jahre basslastige elektronische Musik produziert.
