About this deal

tinta - I know what you mean. I would rather have the copper one than the plain stainless (silver) one, but I am afraid that no matter what, a Liliput of some sort is going to find its way to me! I'm going to suggest that even that's enough to put many people off, and it is (as Nash said) only a minimal example. Re the question of a converter in a Liliput, even if you could find one that fitted, I think it would hold so little ink as to not be worth bothering (I have two, one brass and one copper). I received a Kaweco Supra Fireblue on loan a few weeks ago. Thank you to Appelboom for lending it to Well-Appointed Desk!

Kaweco Supra Fountain Pen - Fireblue | The Hamilton Pen Company

The Supra is minimalism maximized. But in terms of its heritage, the Supra is actually the Liliput maximized. So now is the perfect time to mention the Liliput. I got to use a Fireblue and a Stainless Steel Liliput. I’ll start talking about the Supra, which is newer. The Supra is a brass fountain pen based on the design of the Liliput but made wider and longer. This is the interesting part of the story... blue coloring by annealing is well known to all the watch aficionados out there. Parts of the movement or the hands of the watch are blued by heating. Different temperatures resulting in different colors of the workpiece. And exactly this is how it works with the Liliput: In the process of annealing heat is applied for each Fireblue piece individually by manual labor. In color matching caps, bodies and sections are put together afterwards so every single Liliput Fireblue is one of a kind. not related but why do people hate the fireblue texture so much? i mean not that tis topic is hating it but everytime i see people talking about it its because they hate it We cannot guarantee items that are sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery 1pm will arrive the next day before 1pm on Saturdays as this is affected by your local sorting office.Though perhaps artistically boring, a solid stainless steel version of the Liliput may prove to be the most durable model in the long run.

Buy with confidence from these brands and retailers that either support the blog or I shop at personally. Yes" indicates that this pen can be converted into an eyedropper pen, which is filled by putting ink directly into the barrel. For instructions, see our eyedropper conversion guide. For "Yes - with Modification," see the Questions & Answers section above and the guide. The finishing and construction overall feels great, a precision product. All the sections fit together well, seamless joins are really seamless, weight and balance are good (if you like metal pens). But anyone who has heard of Kaweco’s ‘fireblue’ range before will immediately recognise this pen. Legend has it that the Kaweco CEO personally blowtorches the steel body of these pens to bring out the subtle blues and greys — and occasional oranges — of the fireblue finish. My first fountain pen, and I'm not disappointed in the slightest! This offering from Kaweco caught my eye due to the unique finish, and the one I got is just as catching. The varied blues of the body go well with the copper clip, offering a nice contrast. The Kaweco Liliput takes compact design to the next level. The sleek barrel accentuates the modern simplicity of this pen, which features a robust all metal construction and superior attention to detail condensed into a small-scale portable writing instrument. Despite its diminutive size the Liliput is a giant among pens. Key Features We can engrave any letter, number or character that can entered from a standard computer keyboard, in any language. Fireblue Fountain Pen Review — The Pen Addict Kaweco Liliput Fireblue Fountain Pen Review — The Pen Addict

ive heard that people think that FIREBLU is one of the ugliest textures in doom, i dont see why though, as long as it isnt used too much in one spot its a beautiful texture. I think you have it all figured out, Old_Inkyhand! Something about a "meticulously lacquered Gilbert" sounds quite appealing, actually, and must indeed be a better reward than a boring, ordinary Oscar.

It would be unfortunate to see a beautiful pen damaged or dissolved by cleaning with the wrong supplies (especially since you mentioned that your friend was a "clean-freak". Would it be possible to preserve the unique look by means of a few layers of durable transparent lacquer or something like that? Whilst I'm most definitely not saying that zscript is anything other than great, I feel that many people who don't have enough of a programmers head on their shoulders will find zscript too techy to be their goto modding tool. Take Nash's "minimal coding" example here: Both these steel Liliputs have a nice heft, weighing a few grams more than the Kaweco AL-Sport. That’s a comfortable weight for me for writing, but makes for a solid-feeling pen that seems able to withstand the slings and arrows of carry-around use. Because hands come in so many sizes and preferences vary so widely, I can see the Supra being an attractive option to a wider audience. Perhaps a couple sharing the pen? A growing child? Someone who likes both very long and very short pens? I can’t think of many situations where it would be necessary. Rather, the Supra is an impressive looking pen that can transform into several different pens.

Fountain Pen Review: Kaweco Supra Fire Blue - The Well

I am not sure if anyone has had one of these pens long enough to know one way or the other, or if someone with experience with annealed metal can tell us, but I, too, am curious about this. After all, if it does fade, the price premium for this finish is hardly worth it..... This pen is excellent! I got mine in copper, and have no regrets, as the natural patina has developed very nicely. It’s very easy to take anywhere due to its slim size, and being made of metal, is more durable than any of my other pens.Aesthetics are subjective, but I think the Supra is beautiful. Extended it’s nicely proportioned, and the larger nib size balances the size of the pen. The sleek shape is enhanced by the understated markings. Excellent nibs, the tiny size and sturdy metal construction combine to make these Liliputs the best portable fountain pen I’ve ever used. I’d love to have one to carry around. If I were at my desk I probably wouldn’t choose the Liliput to draft a long document; it’s a little thin for extended writing, for me. But horses for courses. Being the one who mostly stays outside of the community, I feel really confused now. FIREBLU is ugly? Seriously? It is one of my favorite textures! Branding is minimal — just a laser-etched logo in the domed steel of the pen end, and a little more round the barrel.
