Description

Ahead of the UK release date, Sky released a new red band trailer teasing some of the brutal action sequences and establishing the new way that things have changed in London. Elliot (Sope Dirisu) is clearly going to get into plenty more trouble working for The Investors. (Image credit: Sky Atlantic ) Hardy, who directed four episodes, and Marcela Said and Nima Nourizadeh who did two a piece, have crafted a follow up to Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery’s creation that is in keeping with the first but brings something new to table throughout. It’s a great story with real emotional depth that does justice to new and returning characters. And thank goodness. Gangs of London is one of the best British shows on TV: epic, ambitious and international in a way Brit TV often is not, but without ever compromising character or story. And there’s plenty of avenues left to explore for a third season. With a follow up this good there’s no way it’s the end for these gangs. Those who didn't make it through the street wars were Arta Dobroshi's Floriana (her last-minute double crossing of the Wallaces earned her a bullet in the head) and Koba (Waleed Zuaiter), Afridi's enforcer. Koba stepped on too many wrong shoes and met his fate via a poisoned chip shop patty.

There is a meeting of the gangs, all the major factions are seated around a table. Elliot walks in as his last conversation with Sean can be heard over the present goings-on. That will certainly be a big question in season three. Who is working with who and who will come out on top?Sky has also revealed that the second season will debut in the UK on Sky Atlantic and NOW on October 20. The first season transported us to a version of London that was ruled by a group of international gangs. When the head of one of the city's most influential families was assassinated, his youngest son, Finn Wallace (Joe Cole) jumped at the chance to arrest control over the growing power struggle. The first season is currently available to stream on NOW with a NOW Entertainment Membership in the UK, and on AMC+ in the US, which is available as an add-on to Prime Video. Season two sees the return of most of the gangs from season one and with a new antagonist in town the audience’s stand-in has switched. In season one it was Elliot, the undercover cop who was infiltrating this world just as we were. In season two it’s Luan. Next we see Billy (Brian Vernel), bound and laying on the ground, his bloody stump bleeding slowly into the plastic bag covering it. A tourniquet is the only thing preventing him from bleeding out. The scene cuts to his tattooed limb resting on the table in plain sight of Sean and Marian. He tells Sean that killing is not enough, instead he intends to take everything Sean has strived for and claim it as his own. Elliot approaches the table and space is made for him in between the Dumanis. In the heat of their argument, Sean strangles Marian before letting her go and telling her he wants nothing more to do with her. How will Alex (Paapa Essiedu) cope without Finn Wallace around? (Image credit: Luke Varley / Sky / AMC) But a last minute decision to help Shannon and rescue Ed changes everything for Elliot. While his father waits for him at the airport Sean has sent a goon to assassinate him. When Elliot discovers it was Sean who betrayed him it pushes him over the edge. A mission to destroy Sean in Paris results in extensive loss of life – Elliot’s a full on criminal now, and by the end of the series has vowed to take everything Sean ever had. Saba and Faz

In the year since the end of season one, Elliot has become a killer for hire for the Investors, hopping from country to country carrying out hits. What Elliot wants more than anything is to save his dad, but the investors are keeping him in a secret location as collateral to keep Elliot under the thumb. But when the revelation surfaces that Sean is in fact NOT DEAD Elliot has a chance to get his dad out of the country. It took two years for Gangs of London season two to be released following the first season. The large-scale production and cinematic quality undoubtedly played a massive part in the long wait.

Koba (Waleed Zuaiter) is a brutal ruler who wants complete control of London's drug trade. (Image credit: Christopher Raphael / Sky / AMC) He has a vision of his father standing in front of him, presumably to call into question his actions. A subconscious warning to stop before things go too far. Don't worry, this crisis of morality won't hold him for long.
