The M5 with the 15-45 and eventually the 22 mm f/2 will be perfect. Very small, perfectly adequate AF and interface. The 28 mm is so unknown that I don't want to wait. Like the Z6 and Z7, the Z50 has a pair of custom function buttons in fingertip reach, to the right of the lens mount. These can be set to a series of toggle, hold or hold-and-scroll functions, as can a number of other buttons on the body. The options include direct control to whichever menu option you've placed at the top of the camera's 'My Menu' tab, which provides an excellent degree of customization for a camera like this. Electronic Viewfinder I also edited some RAW samples of the 12-40 Olympus, 28-75 Tamron, 12-60 Leica/Panasonic, 16-80 Fuji and 24-70 Nikon Z6 and with the exception of the Tamron (which is full frame) I couldn't really spot a difference in the final images.

I haven't seen any dummy battery of this model anywhere online, and I'm wondering if there's any other method to keep the Z50 camera running indefinitely (or at least 2 or 3h) without shutting down or overheating. image area, (L)3712 x 3712 (13.8 million), (M)2784 x 2784 (7.8 million), (S)1856 x 1856 (3.4 million) Problem is, to do this you need a dummy battery for unlimited camera runtime (it's not recording internally, it's just displaying the screen to OBS), and the Z50 uses a unique new battery, the "EN-EL25".We're very easy to find, our London store is just off Oxford Street between Oxford Circus station and Tottenham Court Road station. The Essex shop is located in High Chelmer Shopping Centre, just off the High Street in Chelmsford. The Stevenage shop is located in the Old Town, in the old Post Office with parking outside The two Z mount DX lenses launched with the camera, the Nikon Z DX 16-50mm VR and the Nikon Z DX 50-250mm VR are both attractive choices for those who want to keep their camera kit small and lightweight, but for those who want more lens options, there are plenty of excellent Z-mount full-frame lenses already available, as well as older Nikon F lenses (both DX and FX) using the FTZ adapter. While testing out the camera, I purposefully limited myself to only the two DX kit zoom lenses the camera came with, so that I can demonstrate their capabilities and see if they are sufficient for most day-to-day needs of photographers. NIKON Z 50 + NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR @ 18.5mm, ISO 100, 3 sec, f/5.6 To keep the body size down, three functions (DISP, Mag + and Mag –) are operated by tapping the edge of the touchscreen, rather than by physical buttons. These options are printed on, rather than being part of the LCD display, and hence can't be reconfigured. They take a bit of getting used-to, but are responsive and work pretty well. For me it’s a very good screen, can trigger photo capturing and focus modification at an instance, without the need to press a button. So elimination camera shake. For years I wanted Nikon to make an M5 and while they more or less have (even the flip-down screen!), they, as I sadly expected, don't have the lenses I want to support it. Nikon reserves the right to change the appearance and specifications of the hardware and software described in these specifications at any time and without prior notice. Nikon will not be held liable for damages that may result from any mistakes that this manual may contain.

A detailed list of camera specifications is available at NikonUSA.com. NIKON Z 50 + NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR @ 110mm, ISO 100, 1/1250, f/8.0 In my opinion, the Z50 is a little bit ugly. A APS-C sensor with a large mount, this will never be a success story. Until Nikon rolls out high-performance DX lenses that are small and lightweight, it will continue to lose to Fuji and the more mature camera systems out there. I really hope Nikon is not going to cripple its Z-mount DX system as it has done with its DX DSLR cameras… NIKON Z 50 + NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR @ 50mm, ISO 100, 1/60, f/8.0 Build Quality and Ergonomics

I agree Clayton, I have the Z6 to replace my a6300 because I didn't want to deal with two systems and particularly the garbage (55-210) or too-expensive (70-300) long lenses. But now my priorities have changed. My old RX100 III is still okay, and I like the bounce flash option, but the AF process is so miserable that it's irritating to use. Sporting a 20.9 MP DX sensor, fast phase-detection autofocus system, 11 FPS continuous shooting speed, ability to record high-quality 4K video at up to 30 FPS without any crop (Full HD slow motion at up to 120 FPS) and a compact, lightweight construction with great body build and ergonomics, the Nikon Z50 is certainly a serious camera to consider for new and existing Nikon shooters. The Z50 sensor is the same one being used in the class leading D500, funny how no one has ever complained about the sensor on the D500... Other ends of the wire you van connect to the 7,4 - 8.4 v power supply, or to the external battery. I connected my adapter to NP-F battery.

The Nikkor 16-50 has amazing cross frame sharpness and is strong at all focal lengths. It collapses down to nothing, and even extended it's extremely tiny. Plus, it's an actual mechanical zoom, none of this power zoom nonsense. Sure, it has a plastic mount and no weather sealing but I'll take that for the price, size, and image quality any day.On the plus side, it's weather-sealed, which is more than you can say for something like the Canon M50 or Sony a6100. If you’re already a fan of the Nikon brand – perhaps you already have one of its DSLRs – and have been contemplating moving to mirrorless, it’s an especially tempting proposition. The Z50 is also a great option for those looking for their first ‘proper’ camera, giving you many of the perks of the Z6/Z7 without such a high price tag. Also joining the party from the Z6 is the same hybrid autofocusing system, with 209 on-sensor AF points that cover approximately 90% of the frame and promise to deliver edge-to-edge sharpness. Sensitivity down to -4EV is promised for low-light shooting, and there’s also Eye-Detection AF, which should come in handy when photographing people; unlike Sony’s similarly specced models, there’s no Animal Eye AF, though. As I have previously pointed out, the Nikon Z50 is positioned above entry-level DSLRs like Nikon D3500 and D5600, putting it closer to what the Nikon D7500 has to offer. Let’s take a look at the key specifications of these four cameras and see how they differ: Camera Feature Seems like a really nice camera for that price. Quite interesting how Canon and nikon went two separate ways when it comes to their APS-C and ff milcs mounts. Nikon has the same mount so id you want to upgrade in the future you dont have to sell all the lenses to and of you shoot both formats you can use the same lenses but it is a Huge mount made for big sensors. Canons ef-m mount Will be a dead end for those that want to upgrade but fullformat is a pretty small segment so for most buyers it Will not be a problem. For those like me Who shoot my seriouys work with a ff camera but Would love to have a smaller and cheaper camera when i go om vacation etc Will need to buy separate lenses but on the other hand it Will be a mount made for smaller sensors so the lenses Will be more compact.
