It's an OK rum, but the extra alcohol throws the beautiful balance that Rumbullion! has and goes too far in my opinion. I lost all of the vanilla, orange peel & cola flavours and all I could taste was a strong alcohol flavour. Ableforth's took their famous Rumbullion! and bottled it at Navy Strength to create a much much 'bigger' drink. This is a warming concoction that would no doubt give a sailor vim and vigour on a stormy night!

Nose: A huge hit of creamy, sweet vanilla and juicy, freshly sliced oranges. There is a mulled wine-like delivery of toasted cinnamon and cloves, with a core of well-aged rum. Aromatic notes of dark chocolate, ripe plums and fragrant oak develop in the glass. I love Rumbullion, I REALLY love the Navy Strength Rumbullion and I so wanted to like the XO.... but I didn’t. It tastes more like a concentrated Scotch.
