About this deal

The COVID 19 pandemic caused from SARS CoV 2 was declared on March 11, 2020 [ 1]. SARS-CoV2 belongs from the beta Coronavirus family, it is a single-stranded RNA, enveloped virus that is 50-200 nm in diameter [ 1]. According to a recent revision, the world mortality rate is 12%. The number of scientific publications that has been produced in less than 4 months is very high: typing the keyword “coronavirus COVID 19” appear over 4700 results on the PubMed database. It seems that scientific research is directed more towards finding a drug for the treatment of COVID 19, rather than preventing the spread of the virus. As mentioned in January by a group of Chinese researchers [ 2] oxidizing solutions such as hydrogen peroxide could be effective in the oral cavity. However, when I typed the keywords “coronavirus hydrogen peroxide” on PubMed, I obtained only 13 results and with “coronavirus COVID 19 hydrogen peroxide” I found 4 results (May, 4, 2020). Hydrogen peroxide, a molecule that consists of hydrogen and oxygen (H2O2), was discovered for the firts time, as a biocidal agent from the early 1800s by chemist Louis-Jacques Thenard (1777-1857). The work of early pioneers in disinfection, such as Benjamin Ward Richardson (1828-96), enhanced the applications of H2O2. Today, its use as a disinfectant is very increased, also as general surface disinfectant in dental field [ 3]. Hydrogen peroxide (HP) in its pure form is light blue, in its diluted form is a colorless, odorless watersoluble liquid. When concentrated, acts as a strong oxidizing agent [ 4]. It is used in surgery because it has an antispetic effect, improves hemostasis and wound healing, re-epithelialization, and reduce inflammation [ 4]. A HP concentration comprised between 3% to 6% is bactericidal, and slowly sporicidal. Higher concentrations comprised between 10% to 30% showed much better sporicidal activity in vitro [ 4]. Its toxicity is very low, in fact authors reported that ingestion of 3% hydrogen peroxide may cause gastrointestinal irritation and whitening of the mucosa, but these are mostly benign collateral events [ 4]. The Environmental Working Group recommends hydrogen peroxide as an effective way to remove grass stains, blood stains, and drink stains like fruit, juice, and wine. Try dabbing the cleaner on the reverse side of the fabric to start. 13. Brighten dingy whites Grapefruit seed oil contains a number of compounds including citric acid and flavonoids that may be able to kill household mold.

Peroxide isn’t a skin care product, but it is found in certain common items, such as whitening toothpaste or mouthwash. “Peroxide is also an ingredient in many tooth whiteners,” says Dr. Beers. However, talk to your dentist before using whitening products, since they can cause tooth sensitivity.Makes ceramic cookware gleam:Sprinkle pots and pans with baking soda and spray them with peroxide. Let them sit for 10 minutes, rinse and dry. Hydrogen peroxide may seem old-fashioned in its dowdy brown bottle — but it’s definitely not a natural home remedy. It’s a household chemical. Peroxide kills germs, and you may have acne treatments that contain benzoyl peroxide. But hydrogen peroxide and benzoyl peroxide are not the same. Don’t use hydrogen peroxide for acne. Make your own oxygen-bleach by combining 1/2 cup washing soda — hint: It’s not the same as baking soda — and 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide. Start the cycle, allow the washer to fill, and soak the clothing for a couple of hours before finishing the cycle to whiten and sanitize.

As we face the challenge of coping with COVID-19 and the emergence of more transmissible and deadly strains of the SARS-CoV-2 causing that disease, it is imperative to explore all remedies that could offer reasonable protection and aid in treatment, in addition to the established public health measures outlined by government; these public health measures include wearing face masks, regular handwashing with soap under running water, use of alcohol-based sanitizers and social distancing. Oxidative stress enhances toll-like receptor 3 response to double-stranded RNA in airway epithelial cells. Am J Respir Cell Mol Biol Hydrogen peroxide can be used everywhere from your kitchen to your bathroom. But keep it away from wounds and acne. Don’t use hydrogen peroxide on woundsThe familiar brown bottle contains 3 percent hydrogen peroxide, but there are much stronger concentrations on the market, including a 35 percent food grade hydrogen peroxide. Tea tree oil is an extract from a small tree called Melaleuca alternifolia. The oil contains an antimicrobial chemical called terpinene-4-ol that may inhibit fungi growth. A 2009 study found that rinsing in hydrogen peroxide reduced the bacterial count by 85 percent. 20. Do use it to sterilize makeup brushes

Scrub off the mold and hydrogen peroxide with a rag or soft brush. Start by scrubbing gently to avoid damaging the surface beneath the mold and slowly scrub harder as needed.

Peroxide has serious bleaching power, making it an effective stain remover. But don’t use it on colored items. And always test it in a hidden area first. Organic gardeners recommend using 1/4 cup of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water to help remove bacteria from vegetables. If you’re washing delicate-skinned vegetables like lettuces, just soak for 20 minutes and then rinse. Dermatologists might use hydrogen peroxide to treat some skin conditions, but it isn’t considered a safe way to lighten hyperpigmentation in at-home use. The risks outweigh any potential benefits, especially because there are other ways to lighten dark spots on your skin. Don’t use it to treat acne To prevent the spread of the virus, in February 2020, the Italian government issued a recommendation, among the methods of sanitizing the environments, for the use of 0.5% hydrogen peroxide. 1 Hydrogen peroxide is already widely used as an environmental, surgical disinfectant and as an oral disinfectant in the treatment of gingivitis. 2, 3 SARSCoV-2 is spread by human-to-human transmission; the infection is estimated to have an average incubation period of 6.4 days and a base reproduction number of 2.24–3.58. 4 Furthermore, scientific studies have proven that the virus persists for 2 days on the mucous membranes of macaques 5 before the subsequent spread of the virus to the lower respiratory tract. This delay represents a window of therapeutic opportunity. To use vinegar to kill mold, you can spray undiluted white vinegar onto the moldy area and let it sit for about 1 hour before cleaning.

If you have a water feature or koi pond, you can safely treat the water to reduce or remove harmful algae. Gardening experts at Get Busy Gardening used 1/2 cup of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide to clear a 90-gallon pond. 16. Treat plants with fungal infections
