About this deal

The best approach is to apply the paste to the brush head, before turning the brush on. Place the head into the mouth, then turn the brush on. Doing so will stop the toothpaste spraying everywhere. Reply

Technically at least though, the Pro 3 – 3000 is the superior and arguably ‘better’ toothbrush. However, in practice, the differences are subtle and don’t make the Pro 3 an absolute must buy over the Pro 2.It is not the biggest frustration, but the brush does not have any way of showing you what cleaning mode is running. Some brushes have LED icons, but not here.

Frustratingly, the brush does not remember the last cleaning mode used. This means every time you use the brush, you will need to press the power button twice if you want to use the sensitive mode. 1 press to turn it on and launch daily clean, a second to get to sensitive mode. You can’t change it before turning the brush on. For some, this makes the brush more appealing, for others less so. There are other colour variants available. Aside from this, technically, the brush handles are identical to the Pro 2 2000 and the Pro 3 3000.

This does mean the handle is water resistant and can survive splashes of water or rinsing under the tap, the least you should expect from a toothbrush right?! Ergonomically, however, is where this toothbrush excels. The handle feels light and slim in the hand. It's still large enough so you can grip onto it easily without it feeling too chunky, which we can imagine - from a design perspective - is no easy feat. After spending 12 years in consumer technology, it was in 2014 that he focused his attention on dental health, having experienced first-hand the challenge of choosing a new toothbrush. Supplied with a charging stand, when the battery needs replenishing, simply set the brush on the stand.

If you look at them, you will see that the Pro 2 2500 has a large rubber grip that runs down the front of the handle, which the Pro 3 – 3500 does not have. Neither brush has lots of unnecessary features, albeit the Pro 3 – 3500 does have a whitening more that is far from essential. Thanks for Sharing your opinions Richard. There are a few brushes that still use NiMH, but certainly a much more limited choice. Reply What about suggesting to Braun to change it, so warning comes early enough to allow you at least one, 2 minutes brushing cycle to finish? Reply Another neat design feature is the rear-mounted pressure sensor, which illuminates red to tell you you’re applying too much force and pressure to the teeth during cleaning. Acting as a visual indicator, it really helps to make you more aware of any bad brushing habits you've fallen into thus reducing the chance of you doing any damage to the teeth. It’s a simple yet clever design detail that works exceptionally well and helps you to brush your teeth the way your dentist would want. After approximately how many years will the battery cease to hold a useful charge [eg last for only 1 day]?

We previously had a Oral-B Professional Care 3000 but after two years the Ni-MH batteries where very bad so I got new ones under warranty. Now two years later I am happy to see that Oral-B use Li-Ion batteries which have such a better life. Not only does it stop the brush heads becoming frayed or splayed, but it also keeps other items in your bag dry, should the brush heads and handle still be damp. Plus, it makes it very difficult, if not impossible for the brush to be accidentally turned on.The Pro 2 2900’s rubber grip provides the colour accent to the handle, to contrast with the white plastic body. Whereas each 3900 is a solid colour.
