About this deal

Admittedly his favourite book in the whole wide world is a bland little story about monkeys - but it does have a button which makes monkey noises when you press it, so I can see the appeal! Love the rhymes in this book. We have the sound book which my daughter loves listening to. Fab book! Why did the witch let the animals on her broom? Would you have made room on the broom for the animals?

We loved this book so much that we ended up buying it. It has a lovely rhyme throughout the book and it makes me smile every time I read it to my son. Lovely illustrations really capture his attention too. The story really flows nicely and my son just loves it.

Room on the Broom (Hardback)

I like the story because it has lots of animals and the witch is nice and they are friends. The dragon is a bit scary. Noisy books aside, this is the best. He likes to point at the witch and the cat and the dog and the bird and the frog. He likes to mimic the dramatic, booming, Brian Blessed-esque voice I used for the ' down came the broom' line, around which each verse hinges. Fantastic book, my little girl (4yr) loves the story. I think the rhyming helps her to remember the story as she can now tell it to me. From former Children's Laureate Julia Donaldson and longtime collaborator Axel Scheffler comes this much-loved tale about a witch and her gang of friends.

a really good book but does get a little tongue tied when trying to keep up with the pace of the story. The witch is grateful to the animals for saving her life. Think of things that you are grateful for. How could you say ‘thank you’ for these? This, archetype-ally, is about the power of the Crone. She cares for others and they become loyal to her. They area force for good. She is not alone after all her children are gone. It's a great representation of that. My daughters favorite book. We got it out of the library every time we came across it,until buying it recently for her as a treat & in the summer she said as we were walking through mud, we need a belt to cross this bog!! I was very impressed. Started reading this book when she was 2 & a year later we still really enjoy it. Great little song lyrics to sing together, great pictures & a good selection of animals as the characters. At the end of the story, the animals unite to save the witch from the mean dragon. Why did they do this and what made them successful? What does it mean to work on a team? What makes a good team? Questions for Philosophical Discussion Friendship all my kids love this book even the 10yr old and my husband loves the rhyming Julia Donaldson books as they're fun to read aloud. Julia continues to create storys my daughter loves shes getting a real collection of fun in her home library How is the witch in this story different from the other witches you’ve seen? Would you want to be friends with her?

Julia Donaldson is one of today's most popular writers. Her bestselling titles include The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo's Child and Room on the Broom. Although she is best-known for her picture books, Julia also writes longer novels, plays and songs. She lives in Glasgow and spends a lot of time on stage performing her brilliant sell-out singalong shows! Think about a time when you have worked with a team. Were you successful in what you wanted to accomplish? This favourite picture book is a real delight: an ingenious and humorous story with a rhythmical text that is ideal for reading aloud. Axel Scheffler has artistically surpassed himself with the brightly-coloured illustrations, which give convincing and expressive features to all the different characters. These picture books, featuring witches, wizards and monsters, are perfect to share with little ones as the nights draw in and there's a touch of frosty magic in the air. The unlikely group of a cat, dog, bird and frog form a great alliance as the continue to help the witch and continue their travels together. All of the animals in the story help the witch. Students can have discussions about why we help others. Why did the animals return the witch’s belongings? It could be that the animals care for the well-being of the witch. Or could it be that the animals have a self-interest to go on the broom? Could it be both? Is one reason better or worse as motivation to help others? I really enjoy writing verse, even though it can be fiendishly difficult. I used to memorise poems as a child and it means a lot to me when parents tell me their child can recite one of my books. Although Juneaux is only 12 weeks she really seemed to enjoy the rhythm of the rhymes in the book. Also it seemed to be just the right length as she was able to enjoy the whole story before losing interest. Good reading practice for Mummy too as some of the rhymes were real tongue twisters!

This was recommended to us by Tegans great auntie Anne who reads this to her grandchildren - they love it. And now we love it too. This is a charming children's book, filled with fun rhymes, funny pictures and an overall charming atmosphere. Had it been around when I was a kid, it would have no doubt been one of my favorites. As things stand it is a blast to read with my daughter and much to my delight she really enjoys it as well. A really good read-aloud story, with great rhythm, rhyme and repetitive elements. My son is 16 months old, and Room on the Broom is currently his second favourite book - he goes and gets it himself from his book shelf most days, which is really cute.Remember reading this when I was little, now enjoying it again reading it to my daughter. She loves anything that has a rhyme to it. A poetic story of love, adventure and music that demands to be read aloud or possibly sung, depending on the power of the reader's purr.
