No Second Chance has been made into a French TV miniseries with the same title. Harlan Coben created the British Sky 1 crime drama Five, which aired in 2016. He also created the French-British crime drama TV series titled Safe, which ran in 2018. His novel The Stranger, published in 2015, has been made into a Netflix TV series in 2019 with the actor Richard Armitage starring in main role. I was looking for something new to read, so I stopped by my local library and have been hooked on Harlan ever since. Win and Myron are both fans of Batman, often referring to their transport as the " Batmobile". Win drives a racing green 1998 Jaguar XJR, often breaking traffic laws by driving it well over double the speed limit. The two cases have baffled the FBI for decades. But Win has three things the FBI does not:: a personal connection to the case, a large fortune, and his own unique brand of justice ... Other prominent girlfriends mentioned in the books are Emily Downing, Ali Wilder and Terese Collins. As mentioned in The Final Detail, he met Collins at a charity function and they ran away to a distant island to drown their sorrows after both suffered losses. Collins plays a major role in Long Lost. In Live Wire, Myron and Terese are engaged, and later in Home the two get married.

I am not a good sympathetic ear, but I try very hard to appear like one. I try to nod in all the right places. I try to look concerned and mortified. My resting face, if you will allow me to use that annoying colloquialism again, is either disinterested or haughty. I struggle thus to engage and look caring. It takes some effort, but I believe that I’m pulling it off. p 44 To find answers to the above questions, Myron and Win have to piece together facts related to Horace Slaughter’s murder, Arthur Bradford’s race for governor and what exactly transpired in the association involving the Ache brothers, a rival basket ball league and rival candidate. In the end, Myron and Win (best friend) get to the bottom of the murder mystery. However, Myron has to resolve his own love life as well, having fallen for Brenda despite living together with Jessica. Introduced in the first book of the series, Deal Breaker, Win is a 31-year-old bachelor working closely with Myron Bolitar, his best friend since college. Win is also very close to Esperanza Diaz, Myron's assistant (and later business partner) whom he meets through Myron.Myron is a great agent that most clients love. He cares about them and helps them not only in work-related issues but also on a personal level when they need aid. These personal cases turn him into an accidental detective since there is a lot of investigative work he does in the books. Win exhibits many traits that would classify him as a high-functioning psychopath and narcissist. He shows no aversion to violence and seems to enjoy inflicting pain and killing those he believes deserve it. Myron makes up one of only a handful of people Win seems to have any care for in the world. He has a very high sex drive and almost no emotional attachments to other humans, especially women. It is frequently observed his relationships with women rarely last more than one night. However, in two successive Bolitar novels ( Long Lost and Live Wire) he spends most of his free time with the same Asian woman, named Mee, who doubles as a flight attendant on his private jet. He displays a high level of narcissism and can overreact to slights or threats. The murder mystery novel revolves around Myron Bolitar (a law graduate from Harvard who works as a sports agent), Greg Dawning (a missing star player of the Dragons basket ball team, Clip Arnstein (the Team’s GM), Win (Myron’s best friend) and Carla (a woman found dead). Myron is hired by Clip to help resolve a murder mystery involving Greg. Greg has gone missing and Clip realizes that no one in the team seems eager to talk to an outsider about it.

Esperanza Diaz is a fictional character in thrillers such as Drop Shot, Deal Breakerand Promise Me written by Harlan Coben.

In this story, told by Win in first-person perspective, readers learn more about what motivates the character than ever before.

Just finished one of Harlan Coben’s best books ever. His newest “I Will Find You.” Outstanding. Reply I’ve just finished reading ‘the match’, another great read. I really struggle to get into a book with the exception on Harlan Coben, Myton Bolitar should be televised by HBO, It’s such a great story line with Win always present, but Wilde carrying the baton really well. And that excites me because I really loved this book. I adored Win. I adored Coben’s conversational style of writing. It felt like he was writing in second person, as if Win was telling ‘us’ his story. It was engaging and funny and Win, as a narrator, is unabashedly arrogant and elitist. If the plot had been a little less coincidental / contrived this might have been a five star read for me, but instead Mr Coben will have to settle for 4.5 stars. He continued writing the Myron Bolitar series until Tell No One, which was the first standalone thriller novel written after many years. It was published in 2001. Have read 14 of Harlon’s books and enjoyed everyone so far. I like the Marlon Bolitar series best and hope there are many more in this series to follow, Reply

Any issues with the book list you are seeing? Or is there an author or series we don’t have? Let me know! nominated for the Anthony Award, the Macavity Award, the Edgar Award and the Barry Award for Tell No One The talented Coben, who likes nothing more than to create mysterious outsiders, does so with great skill and panache The Times
