Description

Zerocream Emollient is used for the relief of symptoms of flaking, dry skin, ichthyosis, dermatitis, the dry stage of eczema and dry cases of psoriasis. It can be used as an alternative to soap. Adverse reactions: liquid paraffin 40% w/w, white soft paraffin 30% w/w, cetearyl alcohol and polysorbate 60. Indications: Be careful not to slip when using emollients in a bath or shower, or on a tiled floor. Protect the floor with a non-slip mat, towel or sheet. Wear protective gloves, wash your bath or shower afterwards with hot water and washing-up liquid, then dry with a kitchen towel. Skin irritation from aqueous cream Purified Water, White Soft Paraffin 14.5% w/w, Liquid Paraffin 12.6% w/w, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Monostearate, Sodium Cetostearyl Sulfate, Lanolin, Citric Acid Monohydrate, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Methyl Hydroxybenzoate, Sodium Propyl Hydroxybenzoate, BHT. Indications: AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream, a light, paraffin-free emollient which has all the benefits of colloidal oat including protecting and restoring the skin barrier, soothing the itch, irritation and redness associated with dry skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis, as well as having humectant properties and maintaining the skin’s normal pH. As well as being a moisturiser it can also be used as an effective soap substitute, to prevent the skin from drying out further.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. You can also report side effects directly via the Yellow Card Scheme at: www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard Liquid Paraffin 65% w/w, Acetylated Wool Alcohols, Isopropyl Myristate and C12- C13 Pareth-3. Indications: Not in Nottinghamshire emollient formulary. Use alternative if a leave on emollient is required -see formulary for options. Everyday soaps, shampoos and shower gels usually dry out the skin and can make skin conditions like eczema worse.Only for patients unable to use ointment/creams/lotions, or where application without touching skin is required, as per Notts Emollient Formulary. AproDerm Emollient Cream is slightly richer than AproDerm Colloidal Oat Cream, however, is still light and easily absorbed, whilst being cooling and moisturising. It can also be used as an effective soap substitute, to prevent the skin from drying out further. Creams feel light and cool on the skin and may be preferred for daytime use and in warmer weather. Creams are ideal for mild to moderate dry skin conditions, they’re easy to use and are well absorbed.

You may need to experiment with different emollients or try a combination. For example, you may decide to use a cream during the day and an ointment at night. How to wash with emollients Fragrance-free 2-in-1 moisturising cream and wash with natural oatmeal (avena sativa kernal flour) for use in the management of dry skin conditions as may be found in eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, ichthyosis, elderly pruritus and other dry skin conditions. Adverse reactions:Paraffin-free emollients should be reserved for patients who are intolerant/unsuitable for paraffin containing emollients due to increased fire hazard risks despite appropriate counselling. As per Nottinghamshire Emollient Formulary. If you or your children need to use an emollient regularly, it's a good idea to keep some in small pots or tubes at home, school or work. How to use emollients How to use emollients on your skin Rarely, mild reactions such as skin rash may occur, or allergic skin reactions on extremely sensitive skin. These effects tend to occur during the first few uses. If you notice any side effects, stop use and tell your doctor or pharmacist, they will tell you what to do. Precautions: Zerobase® Cream softens, moisturises and protects the skin. It relieves the symptoms of red, inflamed, damaged, dry or chapped skin and as an emollient protects raw areas of skin. If you have eczema the creamcan also be applied before a bath to stop the skin drying further. It may help to apply an emollient before and after swimming. Leave enough time for it to be absorbed into your skin before you swim.
