The battery plastic door is located on the left side of the camera, and it is fairly easy to open it up. I was impressed with this little camera! The AKASO Brave 6 Plus Action Camera is great for the moderately-exciting adventures I partake in (like paddleboarding, light offroading, snowsports, drone stuff). I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a solid action camera on a budget. You get the following options for this setting; Auto (default setting), Daylight, Cloudy, Tungsten, and Fluorescent The Akaso Brave 6 Plus records video in gorgeous 4K. As a result, you’ll see exceptional levels of detail, even in very wide shots. The frame rate is 30 frames per second, which goes a long way towards reducing motion blur. Once again, the Brave 6 Plus shines as an action camera. It does its best work when you’re in motion, capturing your adventures in real time. It also works very well as a still camera, though. With 20 megapixels of resolution, you can capture extreme detail so you won’t forget anything you’ve seen. That said, the color accuracy skews towards the blue side of the spectrum. This can always be corrected with aftermarket software, but it can be frustrating at first. To be honest, voice activation for any product or call center rarely works for us – that Aussie accent of ours.

As with the previous Akaso cameras, the Brave 6 Plus includes 2 rechargeable batteries in the retail box. Each battery has an individual capacity of 1350mAh. In the box, along with a good volume of accessories, you’ll find a wrist remote that enables you to start and stop recording. That’s a huge gap right here and it makes shooting videos higher than 1080p useless as the quality won’t change much. And then there’s the product range. AKASO is also in the lead in this area, because they have more options for casual consumers. They have three camera ranges, with 2-3 options in each range; a total of 7 action cameras. I will tell you a little bit about each one and list all the important specs in product information tables. Overall the build and handling of the action camera are very good; it’s just the quality of the waterproof case that lets it down. This AKASO action camera also supports an external microphone, and it features advanced wind noise reductionwhen recording audio.

The remote will pair to your camera via Bluetooth connectivity and you will be able to remote control your camera from a distance. The camera unit itself feels nice and premium, with well-finished edges and surfaces. The buttons are responsive and don’t feel cheap, and the touchscreen has a bright image that can be easily seen in sunlight. Touch performance is fine: not as good as a modern smartphone, but totally usable. Swipe and tap interface options all worked as I wanted them to, I was easily able to navigate through settings and menus. H.265 is a more recent video codec and it offers better conversion and compression resulting in smaller sized high-quality video files. The Brave 6 Plus is even more affordable and so won’t have a few of the extra bells and whistles and a few slight differences, but basically for the price, it’s a great entry into the action camera world.

WDR or Wide Dynamic Range is next on the settings menu, once turned on this setting will adjust the range of brightness to darkness that the camera will record. You can increase the brightness of your photos and accept the resulting noise in the image by choosing high ISO values. Low ISO values give darker images but with less noise. This is a special edition of the V50 Pro action camera. It has some improved features, but more importantly than that,a portion of funds from all sales of these cameras goes directly to the Leave No Trace/Access Fund. I will have to admit though that shooting in 1080p at 30 frames per second is good especially when used with the image stabilization. The Panasonic sensor on the Brave 6 is not that great either. It’s a small sensor and it doesn’t allow enough light to go in which can result in noisy and grainy footage especially during low light shooting. With the 120 frames per second option provided for 720p resolution, it is possible to shoot videos in 4 times slow motion using the Brave 6 Plus. Action cameras are usually used for outdoor and underwater recreational activities. That is why it is a definite requirement for action cameras to have waterproof capabilities. Fortunately, AKASO included waterproof casing for both the Brave 4 and Brave 6. You will never worry about the occasional dirt and splashes when you are hiking or skiing. Additionally, if you are going on a vacation on the beach, you can take and shoot photos and videos up to 30 meters or 100 feet underwater. Differences between AKASO Brave 4 and Brave 6
