Special Feature: Disney Song Selection [1971] [1080p] [1.66:1] [20:40] Here we are presented with the film’s six song sequences, which consist of “The Old Home Guard;” “The Age Of Not Believing;” “Eglantine;” “Portobello Road;” “The Beautiful Briny” and “Substitutiary Locomotion.” Here they may be watched individually or Play All and you can also sing along with the song lyrics provided with subtitles. New to DVD: Pete's Dragon (High-Flying Edition) • Earth • Pooh's Heffalump Halloween Movie (Gift Set) • Disney Princess Enchanted Tales (SE) While Eglantine and company are off on exciting journeys, opposition develops in the form of a bookman (Sam Jaffe) looking for the same elusive spell and a priest (Roddy McDowall, underused) wanting to acquire Eglantine's land. Such foes are of minor concern and are long forgotten by the time the real villains (Nazi soldiers) arrive for a climactic comeuppance. Shortly afterwards, Miss Price has officially adopted and committed herself to raising the children, Mr. Browne also made a commitment to becoming the father of children and moved in with them. Mr. Browne enlists in the army and departs with the local Home Guard escorting him, promising the children he will return soon. Paul reveals he still has the enchanted bedknob, hinting they can continue on with their adventures. For the Naboombu soccer sequence, the sodium vapor process was used, which was developed by Petro Vlahos in the 1960s. [18] Animator and director Ward Kimball served as the animation director over the sequence. [19] Directing animator Milt Kahl had designed the characters, but he was angered over the inconsistencies in the character animation. This prompted Kimball to send a memo dated on September 17, 1970, to adhere to animation cohesiveness to the animation staff. [20] Because of the heavy special effects, the entire film had to be storyboarded in advance, shot for shot, which Lansbury later said resulted in her acting being "very by the numbers". Walt Disney Classics Range children's trailer from Early 1995 [announced by John Sachs] (UK Pitched) Roddy McDowall as Mr. Rowan Jelk, the local clergyman. Deleted scenes reveal Mr. Jelk to be interested in marrying Miss Price, largely for her property. I'd love to know as well as the Golden Collection/30th Anniversary Edition has a running time of 139 mins. and the Enchanted Musical Edition has a running time of 140 mins. I'd like to know why the Enchanted is one minute longer than the 30th Anniversary?

Koenig, David (1997). Mouse Under Glass: Secrets of Disney Animation & Theme Parks. Bonaventure Press. ISBN 978-0964060517. The animated main menu moves along with the flying bed across terrains of varied mediums. The DVD's obligatory "o-sleeve" slipcover is embossed on the front, which features subtle holographic touches. A Blu-ray booklet and Disney Movie Rewards code are found inside. I agree Wonderlicious- it would be nice to have access to both the theatrical and 25th/30th Anniversary versions on Blu-ray.Though her first spells create more laughs than magic, Miss Eglantine Price and the children soon find themselves swept away on board the fantastic flying bed. The four of them take off in search of the Professor Emelius Browne who runs the witch apprentice Correspondence school that Miss Eglantine Price is enrolled in. What they find is a conman, Professor Emelius Browne, the head of the Correspondence College of Witchcraft, who is played by David Tomlinson and Miss Eglantine Price fears all hope is lost. However, when they find the other half of a magical spell book in London, they fly off on an adventure, courtesy of a bed knob. BONUS: This Exclusive Limited Edition SteelBook Blu-ray UK Release is absolutely stunning, because the SteelBook has a beautifully embossed front and you have inside some nice coloured images, so is well worth purchasing this alone, instead of the ordinary Blu-ray Cover. Recycled extras begin with the Vault Disney Channel's "Music Magic: The Sherman Brothers" (11:27), a retrospective with songwriters Richard and Robert Sherman. They reveal how the project's seeds were planted with P.L. Travers' second thoughts about letting Mary Poppins be made and proceed to discuss production with respect to specific Bedknobs songs, including a deleted one. There is also archival behind-the-scenes footage and comments by Angela Lansbury. Disappointingly, this featurette runs barely half as long as it did on Bedknobs' original DVD (20:40). All of the informative parts on Scott MacQueen's restoration have been cut.
