About this deal

COMFORT: 10/10. The ear-pads are magic in my opinion. I can easily wear the headphones for hours without noticing them. The DT 770 250 ohm is better for mixing, mastering, reference, and critical listening situations. It has a better soundstage, more detail and more clarity for the studio environment. The DT 80 ohm might be better for a casual and studio environment. The PRO range contains classic world-renowned studio headphones that are great for producing, mixing, mastering and other studio tasks. But you really do need to use a high-quality amplifier or audio interface to get the most out of these headphones.

Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 ohm Limited Edition Professional

Make and comfort: These headphones are a mixture of steel and plastic and each part is replaceable. But why you will need replacing is beyond me since they have been made so sturdily. The ear pads are made of velour and covers my ears completely, this not only guarantees amazing comfort but also allows the sound to gently bounce off my outer ear into my ear drum which creates a sensation of high definition surround sound.

The Beyerdynamic Pro 250 ohm has an impressive 5Hz-35kHz frequency response with 250-ohm impedance. This allows you to hear more clearly to perform your best during your listening session. Typical for a dynamic headphone from the nineties, the driver will distort once it goes into high excursion due to low frequency content or high SPL. This distortion dips below 1% only at around 105 Hz (when measured at high output levels), and throughout all of this, a nasty 3rd harmonic is very present from 60 Hz to 100 Hz so, when doing anything low-end critical, be careful as this is also present without calibration applied! How accurate and consistent is the correction effect among different listeners? It’s best to connect the DT 770 Pro 250 to an amp or audio interface for optimum music recording experience. These are my 3rd Beyerdynamic product - DT 770 Pro 250, A200p and now DT 770 Pro 32. No doubt, these are one of the best monitor headphones I have used for the price. I do use Marshall Monitor and B&W P7 while traveling. I use DT770 Pros with Schitt Magni on desktop with Garageband. Therefore, the Audio-Technica M50x is great for bass-heavy music such as dance music. If you also do a lot of DJ gigging and produce bass-heavy music, the Audio-Technica M50x might be a better headphone for you. These headphones are for monitoring and you realise straight away why they have been in production for the last several decades. The sound is crystal clear, soundstage is extremely wide and imaging is just terrific. Regardless, I went with 80 ohm ones and these headphones are kind of a benchmark for every day use headphones for me. Now, I am no audiophile, but I can tell a good pair of cans from bad ones - and these ones do justice on all fronts. The Beyerdynamic DT770 80 Ohm has been around for several decades and hence many people have many opinions about it, and here is mine. First lets talk about this headphones’ namesake, i.e. “80 Ohm”, I thought I would need an amp for driving this headphone but it runs loud and proud in my ASUS ROG GL 552 laptop and Lenovo Vibe K5 and Asus Zenfone mobiles. But you can get an amp if you like listening to music at really high volumes.

How well does the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO block out noise?

The DT 770 PRO is a closed dynamic headphone of exceptional quality at a great price, suitable for demanding professional and audiophile applications. The long-term comfort and accurate performance make the DT 770 PRO excellent monitoring headphones for recording studios, post production, or broadcasting situations. The DT 770 pro 80-ohm version is pretty similar to the 250ohm version, but it’s more suitable for casual listening and somewhat less intended for critical listening. The bulk of the features remain the same, and it’s generally equally valuable for the cash. DT 770 250-Ohm I like the 770s so much that this is my second pair. Even though I think my Amirons and 880s are better headphones, sonically speaking, I find that I now use the 770s most of all and I would hate to be without them. I find them particularly satisfying when listening to jazz, the Amirons more so with classical. In terms of sheer value for money the 770s make the Amirons look like more of an indulgence that an unequivocal game-changing improvement! And, I don’t feel I have to be so precious in the way I treat these headphones (which is ironic really, given the fact that the Amirons are distinctly more solidly built). Low tones are really tight and clear. There is no mud, it extremely clean. Own stays in its place and does not overshadow other sounds.
