If you’re going full time prior to retirement or government-provided insurance, visit with your financial advisor to make sure you have adequate coverage that can travel with you just in case you encounter a catastrophic incident while living on the road. Using a paracord and some carabiners is a great way to keep things organised inside your camping tent. To keep the carabiners from slipping, you can simply tie loops in the cord or tie knots at intervals. Materials: Stainless steel with internal copper lining; lid is made from polyester, silicone, and polypropylene Make sure you have digital access to all your medical records and lists of all your medications. Make sure you also have all medical records for your pets as well. Most campgrounds require record access to ensure your pets shots are all up to date you may be required to show proof of vaccinations.

Apply a bit of candle wax to your tent zippers. Rest assured they will glide smoothly. 31. DIY Water Purifier Everyone enjoys a slightly different camping style no matter if they’ve been doing this for decades or are new to the full time RV lifestyle. But we think everyone will find this extensive list of full time RV living thing-to-include helpful whether planning short or extended road trip adventures. Sharing is Caring 1.Water and Sewer Hoses Solar stake lights cost just one dollar a piece and they will help you find your way around the camp. You can place a bunch of them close to the bathroom, near tent entry, by the tent pole… wherever you’d like more light. Depending on the time of the year, you may be able to find holiday-themed or patriotic solar stake lights.

Cut two-inch strips down the upper part of the can and spread them out. Place a tin foil inside to hold the charcoal and put the foil pan over the can. It will slide over gravel, sand, and grass with ease. You may even use it to haul your camping gear from your car to the camp. 34. Create a Camping Boredom Box for the Kids

If all else fails, cotton wool covered in Vaseline makes for a great fire starter. Another easy way to make your own fire starters is to dip cotton pads in wax. MacGyver himself would be proud. If there’s a chance you’ll have to set up camp in the rain, store a large sheet of tarp somewhere within reach. It will keep you dry while you’re pitching your camping tent. 40. Make a DIY Air Conditioner A great camping mug deserves a great cup of coffee, but in the outdoors we frequently settle for just OK. Grounds in our coffee, a weak brew, or the best of the still-mediocre instant coffee brands available are usually go-to’s at camp. If you’re ready to upgrade to something better, and don’t mind spending a bit of extra time on your cuppa, this espresso maker from Nanopresso may be the right choice for you. All the Nanopresso’s parts might seem daunting, but once you get the hang of it, it’s a fairly streamlined piece of equipment. Laura Lancaster

You want to lighten your load as much as possible when you are going on a camping trip. Bread tags make better clothespins than actual clothespins as they are lighter and take up less storage space. 23. Hanging Storage You don’t need to buy a brand new first-aid kit for camping. Besides, it probably won’t have everything you need, and there may not be enough room for other stuff. Having a long enough freshwater hose to make your connection is also important. This can be a big deal if you travel from park to park, since water supply locations vary. We carry both 25’ and 50’ freshwater hoses. Don’t forget spare water hose washers. The ones with little filters help keep your water system cleaner. If you are not able to boil the water, grab a water bottle and the charcoal you brought for cooking. Cut out the bottom of the bottle and poke a hole in the cap to create a funnel. If you don’t have a bottle, you can craft a funnel using a strip of tree bark or a large leaf. You’ll be able to start cooking at the camp as soon as you get there. To save another step at the camp, cut the veggies at home as well. You can easily store pre-cut vegetables in the cooler if you use stasher bags. 46. Keep Food Fresher Too cold to take your muddy boots off in the tent? Wrap a plastic bag round each shoe to make sure the inside of your tent doesn’t get filthy

If you were born with really cold feet, you can go a step further. Before bedtime, heat some water over the campfire (don’t overdo it), and pour it into a plastic bottle. Put it in the bottom of your sleeping bag to get some extra warmth. 15. Beat The Morning Chills The problem with double-wall vacuum-sealed camping mugs is that sometimes they do their job a little too well, keeping coffee at a blistering temperature well after I would have expected it to cool off. So while I didn’t think much of the centimeter-tall rim of the OtterBox Elevation’s lid while running the insulation, weight, and leak tests, it’s what stood out to me most during the field test of the best camping mugs, when taking a tentative first taste to see if my coffee was cool enough to drink yet. The longer rim made it easy to take a slower sip, so that the outside air was cooling the hot coffee before it hit my mouth. Keep in mind that not all plans will cover you in all states, but most will offer out-of-network exceptions. It’s a good idea to know the costs of these options. If you own a drivable RV it's important to know that all 50 states in the US require a minimum of liability insurance on your unit. Because you’ll be taking your home with you, you can talk with your local insurance agent about the best policies for your budget, lifestyle, financial situation. We commend that you do your research because there are quite a few RV based organizations you can join as a full timer. We suggest you limit yourself too just a few. Sign up with too many and you won’t be able to make the most of some, but you’ll still be paying hefty membership fees. Not everyone can have one of those fancy spangled lanterns. But you can make one using two homemade items that is just as good. ( Image credit) Setting up camp but getting eaten alive by bugs? The solution is incredibly simple. Toss a little bit of sage into the campfire. Beyond budget, one of the biggest constraints with camping accessories is space, so consider if the amount of space a camping blanket or solar panel takes up in your vehicle will help maximize your camping experience.
