Here’s the latest news and biggest reason that distracted us from blogging recently, we’ve been working on some big changes in our studio. To be exact, there’s an additional 1,400 sq foot of change. We’re taking over the space next door to our current studio and are doubling our space! This is exciting for a number of reasons: we finally have more space for all our props, or expensive junk. What ever you want to call it, we’re just overloaded with dishes, textures, tables and chairs. Aside from the orange used in this gin, another standout is the use of cinnamon. There are more spices present, but the cinnamon seems to be the most noticeable. Fox’s Kiln Distillery is fairly new in the gin industry. The creator of the gin brand, Jared Brown, started a microbrewery out of boredom in 2011, and later in 2019, he started distilling gin. Together with the other botanicals, they create a gin that gives sweet and zesty notes of blood orange. There’s also a slight hint of fennel in the spirit. Jared Brown recommends serving this gin with a Fever-Tree Mediterranean tonic and an orange wheel as a garnish. 5. Redcastle Blood Orange and Rhubarb Gin Liqueur

Sipsmith Orange & Cacao is an incredibly unique gin that takes the much-loved combination of chocolate and orange and combines it with gin. On the bright side, the color is literally so bright that even a quarter ounce can turn your average Martini into a vivid, unusual hue. In that minute quantity the hint of bitter orange comes through without any of the soapy bitterness. Overall, Malfy Gin Con Arancia The complete recipe makes for a very sweet, fruity, citrus-forward, zesty gin with tiny hints of some earthy licorice. Tarquin makes a vast variety of different gins, some of which have won gold (or even double gold) medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.Tarquin says this spirit is meant to be served in a spritz, with prosecco, sparkling elderflower, and a large citrus wheel as a garnish. 10. St. Ives Blood Orange Gin Chase Seville Marmalade is a Herefordshire-based distillery, known for its gins and vodkas. What makes Chase so special is that their drinks are made with a spirit distilled from apples, so they always deliver a fruity punch.

However, even on its own, or served with tonic or ginger ale, this gin will be perfect. It’s a true all-rounder, perfect for a gin veteran or someone who’s looking for their first gin. An orange-flavored gin is a gin that’s heavily infused with orange, pushing the flavor to the forefront. In addition, a hint of juniper berry will be on the forefront as well, otherwise, it can’t be called a gin. This gin has got some very strong and sweet orange notes. It’s recommended to drink with tonic or soda water, but it’s also a perfect gin to drink neat. Because the gin itself already has a ton of strong flavors, you don’t necessarily need to mix it. 8. J.J. Whitley Blood Orange Gin If there’s any gin brand you can always trust to deliver, it’s Tanqueray. From their signature London Dry Gin, all the way to this orange-flavored gin, Tanqueray always delivers!

In addition to the jammy orange flavor, you can find a piney undertone of juniper berries and a fruity touch of raspberries. The creators of St. Ives Liquor all gained their knowledge about spirits and liquor unknowingly through experience from working as bartenders. The J.J. Whitley Blood Orange Gin might not be just as flashy as the bottle from Fallen Angel, but this bottle is also really nice looking. The bottle has some fancy floral embossing on it. This combined with the vivid orange color from the gin looks amazing.

Sipping this gin neat will allow you to truly experience the amazing flavors of this gin. Serve this cold or over some ice and you might have your next favorite summer drink! Sipped, Malfy Gin Con Arancia is a bit less literal than other gins in the line. While the lemon is lemon; the grapefruit is grapefruit— Malfy Gin Con Arancia is clementine, vanilla, grapefruit, terpey juniper. When you take a sip of this beautiful gin, you’ll immediately notice its fresh and zesty taste of orange, paired with a dark and rich taste of dark chocolate/cacao. This makes for a fantastic combination that’s both delicious and unique. There aren’t a lot of gins with blood orange used as a botanical on the market right now, but it’s becoming more and more popular in the last few years. Overall, the flavor of this gin is great. It’s fresh and juicy, but warm at the same time. This gives it an interesting flavor profile that’s unmatched by others.

With it’s astonishing, nearly neon color Malfy Gin Con Arancia is a fun tool for bartenders to play with. I found its flavor to be a bit off in the couple mixing applications I tried; the soapiness was still present with tonic.

As a bartender, I have seen it all. From the classic gin and tonic to the experimental concoctions that push the boundaries of mixology, I have mixed up countless drinks for my patrons. The base of this gin is from the Liverpool distillery itself, made with their secret recipe. Added to this concoction is the zest of Valencian oranges, giving the gin a juicy, fruity flavor.

More Gin

It depends on personal preferences which of these gins you should buy. If you’re going for aesthetics, then something like the Malfy Gin Con Arancia is great because of its vibrant colors, but also the Fallen Angel Blood Orange Gin is a good option due to its flashy and kind of creepy bottle. Beefeater, unlike many gin distillers, actually provides a list of most (not all of course) of the botanicals used in their gin. Their blood orange gin consists of a mix of 10 botanicals ranging from the obvious juniper berries and blood orange to licorice, coriander, and lemon peel to name a few. The nose of Malfy Gin Con Arancia is a bit of a let down. It has a slightly plastic character with a bit of raw ethanol. I’d compare it to grabbing a pre-cut orange wrapped in plastic at the deli. It’s there, but it smells preserved.
