As I say in the blog post above, the author’s argument does not stand up even if we remain open-minded about whether or not there are such things as demons. And, as I also say in some of the comments above, I suspect that a similar paper would not have been published if it had been about cancer (i.e. an inadequately understood, devastating, somatic illness) rather than schizophrenia.
