Raylee and Colt are like two fires merging into one. As toxic and depraved as it can get. They explode with passion and desire mixed with hatred and stubbornness. Now I’m just horny, and Amy wasn’t doing it for me. But the moment I saw Raylee standing at my door, I knew exactly who would. I didn’t even finish. Once Amy came, I was done with her. Raylee has ruined me for any other woman. They’re boring. She is destined to become a mafia wife and the only way out of such a predicament is death. However, it does seem that there is someone determined to ensure she does not marry the mafia boss and if he has his way she may just end up dead. The secret society seemed very random to me since they never mention the society as a whole and just a few times they met up to kill people. They even had a scene where Ryat from the Ritual was introduced to the guys and before you even blinked he was gone.. it was so random.

This book is 100% NOT for everyone. This book is a *very* dark romance and contains extreme trigger warnings which may be sensitive to some readers so when I say to read the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book if you are sensitive to any sort of heavy topic, I truly and deeply recommend it. I went into this book blind (without reading trigger warnings or reading what the book was about) because I love surprises and I do not have any problems reading any sort of topics but this may not be the case for everyone.

Over the years, I’ve read some seriously dark, erotic, twisted and overall concerning things and this book involves all of those topics. I previously read “The Ritual” by the same author and was happy to see a couple of those characters reappear in this book. I loved “The Ritual” so much and when I saw a couple characters from that book overlap to being in this one, It was a happy surprise. I didn’t expect the writing in the story to be this juvenile and out of place with short sentences that made me want to dnf. Wow, I’m speechless. When I first saw the cover for this book, I had a strong feeling I was gonna like it and long behold, I loved it.

I’ve always managed to hold my own against him. But this time, he’s gone too far. Posting a video of me on my knees for him, for what? To brag? Embarrass me? He’s acting like he doesn’t know me very well. As for her influences, Shantel Tessler does not have a particular book as she believes every work she read over the years has impacted her in some way. My first book by Shantel Tessier was the Ritual and I LOVED it! I adored Ryat. I loved how protective he was of Blakely. I loved how he was so OTT J/P over her! Like no one could even LOOK at his Blakely without him freaking out! So when I saw Sabotage recommended on a Facebook group, I was expecting more of the same. The T/W section says that Colt was supposed to be OTT J/P, so I was EXCITED!But of course she doesn’t even TRY to stay angry at him and make him work for it! She just gives in! LIKE WHY!? HAVE SOME SELF RESPECT! IS THAT SO HARD TO ASK FOR!? Like dominoes, everything started falling down around her. Her mother happens to be down with cancer which has kept her bedridden for months. As such, at such a critical time she finds herself all alone with her troubles. While Shantel is passionate about writing, the family will always come first. As such, she spends most evenings at home with her daughters and her husband alongside their dog and cat.
