He thrust her aside and sprinted to the fallen woman. She was small, a broken doll lying on her belly. The denim she wore hadn’t protected her leg. The material was shredded along with her skin. The wounds looked ugly, vicious even, going from the top of her ankle to the top of her thigh. He couldn’t tell if her leg was broken. The rest of her clothes were shredded on that side as well, her narrow ribcage bloody, the side of her breast and her arm. There is still a lot going on in the story with the war brewing. The sex is hot and heavy with Savage needing to take out his pain on Seychelle. The various characters all play their part in the story but the author’s heavily pen on Savage’s torture overshadowed the MC stuff that I wanted more of in this conclusion. These are dark reads, and reading them around the holidays was pretty not the best choice. But I love her writing, and I enjoy this series, and I had a great time with these two, and everything that went on in these stories besides the romance!

Again, it is important to me when writing a book, to research the subject matter heavily so I can write without prejudice. There are many different lifestyles and needs and not all people are alike or have similar pasts. People are shaped in many different ways by their experiences. Seychelle entered consensually into Savage's world because she needed the same things he did which made them a perfect couple. She entered the relationship knowing what he is and wanting to enter into this lifestyle with the man she loves and trusts wholeheartedly with her body, mind and heart.

Seychelle Dubois has spent her entire life not feeling much of anything, until Savage comes along sets her whole body on fire. Kissing him had been a mistake. Letting him get close would be a catastrophe. He's the most beautiful—and damaged—man she's ever met. He has a way of getting under her skin, and what he's offering is too tempting to resist. Overall View Was he? Hell. “Yeah, baby, I can do that. My brothers call me Savage. Probably for a reason you don’t really want to hear.” I’m trying to figure out why I struggled with this story more than last. The kink level is still top level. Once again, I must say that there are a lot of things in this book that can be considered triggering. I think this book may have even delved darker into waters that made me uncomfortable or question the usage or placement in the story. Some things are better mentioned briefly or just implied. The graphic descriptions of abuse at this time are too much and of course, I don’t want to give too much away but I had to stop this book a few times to continue. This didn’t hit my typical romance palette.
