The text written by Sam Harper was extremely funny and I knew I’d have a lot of fun illustrating all of the crazy characters! We caught up with Chris to find out about his artist journey and the brilliance behind his hilarious new book 101 Bums (written by Sam Harper, published by Hodder Children’s Books). That sounds a bit weird, but if you read this book (or look at the cover for that matter) you will see what I mean. We will shake our butts with the beat~ Along with all the animals + more that we encountered on the way. Hachette have also recently opened new office in Manchester and founded Children’s Books North on social media. Chris now scribbles picture books and fiction titles for a living and has illustrated books for fantastic authors such as Peter Bently, Maz Evans, Lucy Rowland and Kes Gray.Find monster bums, ghost bums, vampire bums, witch bums, werewolf bums, skeleton bums and much, MUCH more in this fun-filled celebration of Halloween - with a spooktacular party finale! I’m a big fan of the Baryonyx which was first discovered in 1983, the year after I was born (yes, I’m getting old! When I visited my Grandparents, they always saved the cardboard from cereal packets, just in case I ran out of paper! I am definitely not the age group for this book, but I just love a book that makes me laugh, and bums make me laugh. It’s great to have a Northern hub for children’s book community and it’s exciting to see how things will develop!
