Description

We celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories, traditions and living cultures; and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. It’s definitely got some powerful moments showing the bonding of mothers, friends, family and who is hiding things. Normally I don’t love thrillers and I will say this one was a little more emotional for me as it deals with a kidnap and I’m a relatively new mum, so that probably made this more ‘enjoyable’ (or maybe emotional). An intensely twisty thriller guaranteed to keep you guessing until the very end - perfect for weekend reading. I couldn’t understand why they didn’t want to go to the police when it was possible that they might hold vital information.

It has a nice cast of clearly-drawn characters (albeit a lil one dimensional) but seems to be missing the necessary police presence (similar to No One Saw a Thing). I’d also definitely recommend this novel as an addictive summer read for mystery thriller readers of all ages. The plot gets really twisty, and the reveals which come towards the end are shocking and devastating. There are some very odd dynamics in the book which do lead you down a certain path of suspicions and the odd red herring deceives you somewhat! All Her Fault simmers with unbearable anxiety before the gut punch of its charged and riveting climax.

Having a nanny has allowed for both to continue working and they are surrounded by the trappings of a prosperous, and, up to now, happy marriage. Marissa Irvine arrives at 14 Tudor Grove, expecting to pick up her young son Milo from his first playdate with a boy at his new school.Trata el tema de la desaparición de un menor pero con mucha originalidad ya que al final no va a ser el tema central. Four women in a close-knit community are thrust into the harsh spotlight when a young child goes missing, in this explosive and twisty top ten Sunday Times bestseller from Andrea Mara. El tema en sí no es novedoso: la desaparición de un menor, pero sí la manera de estructurar la historia y crear una trama estable e inteligente. When it came to working out who took Milo every single person was a suspect, so when the grand reveal comes its more shocking than I had expected. Marissa is confident, a go-getter but, with Milo’s disappearance, she is a shell of her former self, unable to function, unsure of what to do.

Immediately compelling, All Her Fault explores every mother's worst nightmare and delivers deftly original twists. I was hooked within the first few pages; the stakes are sky-high, and the intensity and pace never let up. El trío de padres que critican en las puertas del colegio a la entrada y salida son para echarles de comer aparte. Andrea Mara's tight plotting and convincing characterisation make her books both compelling and intriguing. He was meant to be at a playdate with his friend, but when Marissa goes to pick him up, his friend’s mother has no knowledge of the playdate.Un libro que recomiendo, tanto para los que leen el género del suspense como para los que recurren a él de vez en cuando. We honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' continuous connection to Country, waters, skies and communities. Esther theady whose house she ends up at is by far my favourite character within the book and yet her role is under rated. Jenny the mother of Jacob the family who were assumed to have Milo finds herself inserting herself into the investigation.

All Her Fault - Penguin Books Australia

This entertaining novel starts with Marissa knocking on another school mother’s door to collect her son Milo, after a play date.Jenny is in France on business and has no knowledge of any arrangements and over the next few days suspicions fall in several places. A terrifying scenario, Andrea Mara cleverly weaves it all together in a very tight plot, making All Her Fault a very engrossing and exciting page-turner. I definitely don’t ‘like’ the subject matter but it is shocking and gripping and I suspect if you like thrillers that it’ll be a good one to try.
