About this deal

I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation, whether well-fed or going hungry, having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want. Without faith it is impossible to please” God (Hebrews 11:6), and “whatever does not proceed from faith is sin” (Romans 14:23). Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. When these thoughts get rooted in our minds, then they become strongholds that give the enemy control. Meyer explains that Satan knows how powerful we will be if we embrace God’s positivity with our mind and spirit, and so he chooses to attack us where we are most vulnerable—our minds.

And to do so, we must be able to teach people not only to love the Word but also to do the Word (James 1:22–25). Meyer chooses Jesus as a role model, but we might have someone else who has positive qualities that we would like to cultivate in ourselves. If we're trapped in a negative mindset, our lives can feel chaotic and unnavigable, even if our circumstances aren’t actually terrible. Honestly, I think a lot of the negative reviews on this book come from people who were expecting a cure-all book that simply by reading it would cause everything to suddenly become peachy, but that isn't how life works now, is it? We must learn to be patient and wait on the Lord, even if it seems that He is taking us in a roundabout way to get to our desired destination. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. If you know hardly anything about history, you can still know that the people who have had the greatest impact on our world for good or evil were not the smartest, not those who had the most knowledge, not the wealthiest, not the most talented, but those who have had the deepest convictions for right or wrong. In Part 1, we’ll explore Meyer’s ideas about how our mindset shapes our reality, her view of Satan as the source of our negative thoughts, and her imagery of our minds as a battlefield between God’s positivity and Satan’s negativity. Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.

I had come to the end of my solutions, and one day a phrase in Isaiah 61:3 captured my attention: “The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review. But when we keep our minds focused on the promises of God's Word, we will remember that our current circumstances won't even compare to the glory that is coming. I found this Bible very useful for self study and very inspiring because it teaches you how to overcome your life and fulfill God’s purpose.

Also because this Bible uses the Amplified version for the Bible text, the combination is compelling. This may sound funny, however learning to regularly take inventory of our thoughts is essential to having a good life. God knows that we will not come through to victory if we get discouraged, so He always encourages us as we start out on a project by saying to us, “Don’t get discouraged.

And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done. There's no index to her malarkey, so I tried to make one out of the nine pages in the back that she reserved for "My Victories". If I were to say to my wife, “Honey, I’ll be faithful to you twenty-nine days of the month,” she knows, and I know, that partial faithfulness is unfaithfulness. My thanks to NetGalley and FaithWords/Center Street for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.
