On the hole maps, orange arced graphics will show you where a 150, 200 or 250 yard drive will finish while dashed blue graphics depict how far these will leave you to the green. I didn’t use several of the other features such as the touch IP, but I can see that it is a useful tool. From the main screen that shows the front, middle and back distances you can swipe left to view a color hole map. Remove the black sticker and insert an object such as paper clip to press and hold down the Reset button. I take my golf game incredibly seriously, so I like to know that the equipment I’m using won’t fail me when it matters most.You certainly can wear it off the course - there are fitness features including a step counter - and a traditional watch face, but the styling probably lends itself more to being a golf specific watch. But front, middle and back yardages are probably irrelevant as you try to find your game over the first few holes. The industry-changing addition of this makes it an absolute must-have device for any golfer who’s going to be playing on courses with undulating greens or anyone looking to improve their putting skills! The LED full-colour touchscreen was clearly visible in the bright conditions and the yardages seemed accurate when compared with my laser measurements.

You can measure shot distances and also swipe to gain access to a hazard list, although it would have been nice to know to distances to carry them as well as reach them. Whack it, walk to your ball look at the primary screen to see FRONT, MIDDLE and BACK distances of the green.

Our only reservations lie in the slight screen lag and clumpy dimensions of this watch versus its competitors. We first tested the W11 on the new course at Essendon Country Club, a course that has been designed with two greens on each hole.
