In just one use she got the correct placing, but it’s not meant to be used with the pen style provided, you need to remove it each time you want to close the cap of the pen and it broke for us on the first try to remove it. These books kept my grand babies busy for HOURS and they were so excited to use the books and to see the ink disappear so they could start all over again, after an hour or so my oldest wrote her name on a piece of paper and I could notice a major difference in her penmanship!
