The exact amount of passion went into blending the Metaxa 12 Stars to interpret the Greek culture with this one-of-a-kind dark amber spirit. The blend is then aged for a further year in oak barrels, cold-filtered and bottled, ready to delight its new owner. He worked as a bartender instructor for many years, teaching people how to make cocktails like a pro.

The white in the design represents Cycladic architecture, the blue for the Aegean Sea, and the bright gold for the sun. Metaxa 5 Stars begins life as a double-pot stilled 5-year old brandy blend of Savatiano, Soultanina, and Black Corinth grapes. However, Metaxa 7 Star is aged in oak casks for at least seven years, which gives it a richer flavor and a smoother finish. Our primary audience is from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Europe, although we have readers from as far away as Mauritius! Metaxa sent us the 5 Star and 7 Star bottlings — leaving the entry-level 3 Star behind — for us to kick the tires on.Mellow taste with hints of vanilla and a delicate aroma make Metaxa 7 star Wine Brandy a spirit of distinction. Medium amber colour; floral aromas with hints of orange peel , plums, spice and vanilla; sweet notes on the palate with a long intense finish. I'm sure that in cocktails or as ice melt it does about as well as any other cheap liquor meant for mixing.
