I'm either blind, or the author really just tried to force together a heteroromantic relationship just because it was a boy cat and a girl cat being friends. sally bones, the super-creepy one-eyed cat who knows the same ancient fighting secrets as varjak, is taking over the city: she and her gang are barging into territories and intimidating the non-gang cats into giving them food and slowly forcing them into smaller and smaller free-zones where they are allowed to live and try to sustain themselves.

The process of character creation is a bit mysterious, even to me, so perhaps it's best to just let the characters be themselves, and enjoy them as they appear in the books! I'm really glad you like Razor, because I think he has the most interesting story of any of the characters in this book; he changes the most from the beginning of the story to the end.I'm so excited to be able to share the TYGER paperback with you – and it's just as beautiful as the hardback! Sally slicer and she doesn't want to become like her aunt sally and varjak and holly get kittens ill tell you the next bit tomorrow Do you like it already?

Razor decides on a plan where he pretends to take Varjak, the Orrible Twins and Jess to Sally Bones, with the Scratch Sisters and claim that he found them on the territory. My family is quite poor as it is, and I relied on my previous schools to be able to read Varjak Paw and The Outlaw Varjak Paw.The story explores a number of themes and ideas giving lots to talk about including being different, bullying, friendship, courage and determination. In the meantime, if you enjoyed Varjak Paw, I hope you'll read Phoenix – I think it's the best book I've written so far! On a large piece of paper, A3 or bigger (eg back of a piece of wallpaper or similar) children could draw a chart of the characters in the story with annotations. This was a very interestion book about a group of cats versus the group of bad cats in the battle of their city.

One of my favourite reviews was this long one on the children's literature blog Achuka, which gives lots of detail and context, and concludes: "it is important to recognise when some books, and some authors, reach extraordinary heights of excellence. In the meantime, I hope you'll try my new book Phoenix - it's not about Varjak, but I think you might enjoy it too! At the end of the day, the brilliant school librarian Aimee Allpress showed me the display they'd made about my books in the library, and inducted me as an honorary member into the school's Parklands Perusers reading club, and gave me a badge that I will wear with pride! But it doesn't actually go into these emotions a lot, which surprises me as this is read in primary schools, where books tend to have in-depth scenes about emotions to help children learn.when my teacher said we had to a mythical story I wrote the story and my friend had to peer asses it and she loved it so much that she wanted a part 2 so it took me a while and i wrote it finally when she read it she wanted a part 3!
