Which makes me think the Pretty Things could have been pretty big here in the states had it not been for drug busts. There's heavy sibilance on "Spies" in all the versions, so maybe that's just how Chris Martin sang it. No surface noise at all, but it's the first record I've bought that I noticed sounded "bad" - flat, lacking depth and dynamics, and very notable sibilance - especially on the quiet parts of "Spies.
