I love the look of consumer film, and still shoot it quite a lot; working on a roll of Gold 200 at the moment! Also, explore the rest of our Film Reviews, they will give you a good guide to the different looks you can get with all the emulsions that are out there. Finally, that aforementioned wide exposure latitude is a good safety net should the light really be too bright or dim, and the film has good enough dynamic range to render light and dark areas well in the same shot, as you can see with the fish market and pigs shots below. It is essentially Superia film, but without the 4th layer technology, hence the fact it is a more economical option.

Not to cheat on my first love, the Kodak Gold 200, but I can honestly say that I love the two equally. Simply put, trusting in a consumer film like C200 is to go back to those early days and to remind ourselves of why we enjoy film photography in the first place. In the spirit of their mission, today we're highlighting designer Alexa Amigon, the founder of lifestyle brand LAFOI. That low cost shows up as plain as day but it can be used to your advantage if you're aware of it and like the look.

While it makes sense now, the move will most certainly have a negative long-term effect on the entire film community. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. By choosing C200, I wanted to see if consumer films could still do that for me, even as an experienced shooter.

As I talked about in those other reviews, Kodak films tend to have a brighter, more yellow hue to them, with Fuji films being cooler and more subdued. Get loco in Acapulco with your new fisheye friend, dressed in a one-of-a-kind striped fabric design, to capture your wildest adventures in an incredible 170° fisheye view! I'm sure the C200 will be discontinued at some point soon but until then - it's definitely a nice alternative to the Kodak Gold 200.

These use the built in simulations and other adjustments to capture some of the spirit of these giants of photography heritage. But now that the transition from a mass-market industry to enthusiast industry is all but complete, manufacturers like Fujifilm are deciding to abandon the consumer base that helped revive them in the first place. Having said all this though, I am exhibiting a bunch work shot on C200 next year, so clearly I do use it!
