There was a time when Take Two CEO Straus Zelnick suggested they could do something, when he told investors that “what we’ve put out so far [on Switch] has been successful”, but the boss has never saw fit to capitalise on Nintendo’s huge user base (Nintendo Switch Has Now Sold Over 107 Million Units) or the ongoing popularity of GTA 5. PayPal Credit and PayPal Pay in 3 are trading names of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas: Five years ago, Carl 'CJ' Johnson escaped the haze of Los Santos, San Andreas.

Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands) may take longer to reach you. Rumors of a GTA 5 Switch port have been circulating the industry for nearly as long, since before Nintendo's hybrid console even hit the market in early 2017. If you’re looking for more GTA 5 guides then follow the links below for more helpful tips, tricks and explainers. This particular Definitive Edition is still struggling to match what players were treated to with these games back in the day.

So since you’re here we’ll try to give you a bit more information, and should anything change in the future, we’ll be sure to update this page to keep you informed. There were objectively rough things about the ports at launch, and my own fair bit of time with the trilogy has seen a couple crashes here and there, but overall, the GTA games on Switch are more than decent by now and predictably blessed by the portability granted to them (which you'd think should be common knowledge since Gen 7 at latest).

The music you play while driving around in GTA is a huge part of the game, and players awaiting Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition were concerned that iconic missing tracks might change the flavour of the experience they remembered from the original releases. Both maps have been recreated with almost all of the finer details intact, which makes driving through them and causing chaos just as thrilling as it was in the early 2000s. GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas are still very much the same games we know and love, even down to framing of the slightly redone cutscenes and many of the songs you’ll hear on the radio. Too much praise over patches that shouldn't have been necessary to begin with, is like condoning their actions.

Rumours have been swirling for quite some time regarding a potential remaster for Red Dead Redemption. But a lot of your time in these worlds is spent merely travelling from one place to another, stealing a car or performing a hit, and driving your way back to accept another mission. While that game strives for simplicity, however, San Andreas – as the apex of the trilogy – has a bit more going on, with an itemised food system that affects your weight and health, the ability to purchase individual clothing sets, and gym visits that affect your muscles.

However, all of this stuff is way too late for the many, many people who got burnt to the tune of fifty notes when three all-time greats launched in one of the absolute worst release states we've seen on Switch. That said, while this trilogy is by no means as “definitive” as it should be on Nintendo Switch, the stories of Claude, Tommy and CJ are still very playable if you can look past the obvious technical downgrades compared to other home console versions.Rockstar’s botched remastering of these three legendary open-world titles is well known at this point, so it isn’t surprising to say that GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas all deserved better than this – especially considering this marks the franchise’s first appearance on a Nintendo platform since 2009’s Chinatown Wars on the DS. Please note: an internet download is required for the physical version of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.

Retro City Rampage and Shakedown Hawaii are probably better choices if you are looking for driving around and shoot things. With the revolutionary freedom to go anywhere and jack anyone, Grand Theft Auto III puts the centre of the criminal underworld at your fingertips, if you have enough guts to take it.Reddit user RafaelSwi discovered that the game's recently leaked source code contains just a select few inconclusive references to the Switch. One of the most popular open-world titles of the 2010s, Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 is an ambitious crime game featuring three protagonists. Tommy Vercetti’s journey from tourist to underground crime lord is full of blood, bank robberies and banging ’80s beats.
