I'd always sneak spritzes of it when I saw testers of it about, whenever I'd smell it, I'd always think of either my sister in law or my mother, I ended up purchasing a bottle of it and subsequently got a 30ml bottle for traveling, it always without fail gets compliments. Compliments range from "you smell so snuggly" to "you smell so clean", whenever I feel low, I always reach for it. In the middle, it goes through a phase of smelling like a luxe cake of provence soap. To make the image more precise, I don't mean a perfectly smooth factory-made soap, lovely though those may sometimes be; I am thinking of a handmade farmer's market soap, with little bits of dried herbs and flowers set into it! In the dry-down, there is the politest whiff of powdery vanilla sweetness. Eight hours in, the clean, cozy smell of cedar is still lingering faintly and the anisic fuzziness of mimosa is holding on as well.

Moving forward like 20 years, I've found that, although 1881 is an amazing perfume, it´s a very, very similar drop. But for a 1/5 of the price. just got a bottle of this love the scent and have smelled this long time ago and have sampled a few times as well. The formulation would have been the older at the time. As a true lover of opulent forals and rich orientals, I need not ask for more in daily use during hot summers. Definitely an aromatic fougere in the mold of Paco Rabanne etc. Its a pine forest blast with very fresh greens. Not sweet at all and only very slightly citrusy. the oakmoss gives it an older feel, reminds me of Tsar. It also has a soapy clean feel, I could definitely use this getting out of the shower except maybe in really cold weather because it's not in any way warm. Its unfortunate that IFRA essentially banned oakmoss. Not sure when this fragrance was reformulated, and how much natural oakmoss it used in the first place, but my bottle smells great and performs well. I have a 2016 batch (6098) which im loving - seems like there is at least some natural oakmoss in this, but i dont have enough experience to tell for sure.mmm i like this fragrance the flowery boozy smell just suits me to a tee not in my top 10 but one that i would go to often so i guess i am loving it as far as which category i put it in The scent is very nice, like a cup of chamomile tea. Like the tea does not have much taste, just a little so you know there is something else than water in it, so is the fragrance. It's very lame. First I did not smell anything, and I have a very sensitive nose that smells everything! I had to spray many times to get the idea of the smell. It's a soft, soapy floral, like a very early spring day. It's pretty and definitely office friendly. I like the scent and wish it performed better. My husband said he smells it and likes it. This will never fill the room, it's shy and modest.
