For the price, it performed decently with all the vegetables we tested. However, there are a couple of caveats.

Now, onto the onions. If you’re anything like us and have particularly sensitive eyes, cutting onions can be an absolute nightmare. One second, you’re happily chopping away, and the next you’re trying to blink through the tears forming in your eyes. To summarise, we recommend this tool. There are many things we love about this vegetable chopper. It’s easy to use, easy to clean — what more could you really want? While we did find it much easier to chop the carrots using the OXO vegetable chopper in comparison to a knife, we did have to press quite hard down on the lid, and think that if the carrots we used were much bigger it would have been difficult to chop. Because of this, we do recommend that you slice your harder vegetables (such as potatoes, carrots, parsnips etc) to make them more manageable.
