San Niccolò: This was one of the first Florentine neighbourhoods I got to know really well, while studying etching here when I was just 20.

The book reviews cover a fairly wide range of fiction including what are now long forgotten novels alongside those regarded as classics.Who built what in 1801 and where Lord Uphisownarse bought his horses get plenty of coverage; people almost never.

Taken from all manner of musical circles, this collection of sounds goes a long way to representing every facet of the label's influence and output. We take intellectual property concerns very seriously, but many of these problems can be resolved directly by the parties involved. Oh I do love this comment Molly, and your take on it – stopping to savour the moment, slowing down, it’s a real art form these days isn’t it? Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum.

With an emphasis on quality produce, the salumi and cheeses that are paired with mostly local wines by the glass do not disappoint. It has inspired me to visit some of the buildings he mentions and to be more observant, especially of ralway stations and Town Halls.

I enjoyed most of this book and like and admire John Betjeman for his conservation work of buildings. Betjeman is the first to hail Lucky Jim as the funniest book in a generation despite his normally half-baked ideas about what goes on in the world outside Oxbridge. Amongst much of the population, however, such rapid change met with disquiet: a nagging sense that the New had displaced much that was wonderful in the Old. I thought of you yesterday because I was in Paperback Exchange and bought ‘Italian Hours’ by Henry James.

Unfortunately rather than being hardcover as described at time of sale, it was a paperback but it is in good condition .

Taken together they offer a eulogy for what was lost and an impassioned defence of the past in the face of progress's relentless onward march.
