Description

The touch function makes exercising challenging because you really have to touch the pods. However, if the touch function is the only function of the device, it can cause irritation in some training situations. I wanted to improve my balance with the help of reaction training lights. Normally, I find balance training extremely boring. So it seemed like the ideal training to do with the training pods. I put two of my friend's gymnastics beams on the floor with 4 Blazepods on top. This made training balance a lot more fun! Walk across the beams and tap lamps in the meantime. Before you know it, you've been practising for 10 minutes. Basketball: Tap pods arranged in a triangle formation as they light up, progressively increasing speed and challenge. https://howtomechatronics.com/tutorials/arduino/how-to-build-an-arduino-wireless-network-with-multiple-nrf24l01-modules/ Because reaction lights are usually pricey, a lot of people are looking for alternatives or are looking for second-hand reaction lights. I would advise against buying second-hand because unfortunately you don't know what your predecessor did with it and you can't look inside the lamps. It is of course all technical electronics and you have to be an expert to see if everything is still intact. Most reaction lamps are also not completely waterproof. Therefore, you never know for sure if you will take them over from someone with possible water damage.

Standard / random mode: This mode has almost every reaction light. You choose the number of pods that should light up at a time to touch. Coordination Enhancement: Achieve optimal spatial awareness by engaging in training routines that involve synchronized movements of hands and legs. Reaction light training refines your body's coordination for improved performance across sports. You can think of countless exercises you can do with reaction training lights. This is mainly due to the many training options that reaction training lights have. Training options I wish the app offered videos showing how to do each activity, because sometimes it's hard to figure out based on the written description. For example, for the One-Leg balance, it says to place the pods in a square on the floor, stand in the center, then, "tap out the lit Pod with your raised foot and look for the next Pod to light up." It says to, "repeat until the activity ends without the raised foot touching the ground." I wasn't sure if I was supposed to stay in one place, or if I was allowed to hop around on one leg to tap out the pods. Because two of the pods were behind me, I did hop around, but I wasn't exactly sure if I was doing the exercise right. App can support 14 languages (English, French, Chinese, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, Polish, Czech, Japanese, Thai, Turkish & Korean) We also need a way to detect a object in close proximity, detection has to be fast and reliable. Ultrasonic sensors are bulky and slow, while laser detection or TOF sensors like VL53l0X are small, expensive and hard to protect from dust. My choice is this popular tcrt5000 sensor, really fast, cheap, easy to use... To make sure we catch every movement I placed a pair on each side of PCB/device.

As you have read, there are many different options for getting started with reaction training lights. I would definitely recommend every athlete and trainer to start working with them. It can greatly motivate you (and others) to train more and harder. In the end, I returned the Blazepods because I personally like the Reaction X better and will use it to shape my workouts. But which one suits you best will of course differ from person to person. Do you want to get started with the Reaction X like I do? Then you can find them in this webshop. Scope of Applications: Football, basketball, badminton, taekwondo, boxing, rehabilitation training for the elderly, children's physical training & other fields And when you're not training or playing for a while, you can of course use the lamps as mood lighting. This will save you some costs for buying a smart lamp 🙂 How much do reaction training lights cost?

What you get

Reaction lights are usually very easy to charge. Almost every supplier provides USB cables for fast charging of the lights. With which phones can they be used? Colour battle: One of the most fun training modes to battle against another. You both choose your own colour and try to touch as many lamps of your colour as possible.

The method of storage also differs greatly from one supplier to another. You can buy reaction lights separately and often you can get a handy storage case with them. This is very nice because in this case you can take the reaction lights with you wherever you go. It would be a shame if you lose a cable or light after your training. Usually, you cannot buy these separately from the suppliers. In addition, the lamps are extra protected and therefore last longer. Finally, it also looks cool; all those lamps are in a nice sleek case. Conclusion

SPECIFICATION:

When I train alone, this is one of the most fun training options for me. It is very similar to the "distracting mode", except that you have to pay attention to which colour lights up the least each time. For example, if the light is 3x blue, twice yellow and 1x red, you have to tap the red one. This ensures that you have to think twice during your training. Definitely a must! Tailor your workout with the Reax optionals such as chargers, Bluetooth connectivity and a WiFi router. SPECIFICATION: Brand To upload the code first open the sketch for device one I've attached here. Connect an USB FTDI adapter to the serial programming points. Once again, these connections can either be pressed onto the PCB or connected by soldering the pins or female headers that have to be desoldered later. Reaction lights; you see them more and more in a lot of sports. But what is it exactly and what can you do with it? And above all, the most important question for many sports fans: is it worthwhile to buy reaction lights? I myself have always been a big fan of interactive sports games. Corona made me work out more and more at home and keep motivating myself. That's why I thought it would be fun to do some research, test the reaction lights and share my experience with you. After all, there are many different reaction light variants out there! For those who want to get started with training, and are looking for training lights, there are many different choices. The price ranges from €250 to €3500. Pay attention to how many pods you get and if you get a carrying case and accessories.

At the bottom of the BlazePod app, there are four tabs: Discover, Create, Analytics, and More.In Discover, you can explore BlazePod's preloaded activities. Filters at the top let you narrow down the activity list to find something specific. You can filter by accessories needed, number of players, type of activity, and more. The use of different coloured lights and the position of the satellites allow for the design of training sessions which are suitable for sport preparation and for functional neuromotor recovery in rehabilitation phases. You can also turn one-person activities into competitions by letting each person have a turn and comparing your scores at the end. We did this with the Agility Test and the Plank Challenge. Remember how I said I only managed 14 hits the first time I did the Plank Challenge correctly? When my boyfriend did it for the first time, he got 31 hits in the same amount of time (20 seconds). Inspired, I knew I could do better. The next time, I logged an impressive (if I do say so myself) 36 hits. Then, he had to try again, and managed to eke out 37 hits before the buzzer sounded. BlazePod can even make planks fun, which is saying a lot. ConclusionsI myself chose to test only the BlazePod and the Reaction X. The other options were simply too expensive for me to buy. I found the other options simply too expensive to buy for myself. Especially if you are not yet sure how often you will use it as an athlete. Another small (US-centric) issue: Though I selected imperial as my preferred measuring system when setting up my account, there are metric measurements in the drill descriptions. It will, for instance, tell you to place the pods two to three meters apart. A BlazePod spokesperson confirmed that that the latest version of the app only offers imperial measurements in results and analytics, not drill descriptions. That means you'll need a metric measuring tape or you'll have to convert the measurements to imperial. This is only really important if you want to compare your results over time to see if you improved. If so, you'll need to measure out the spacing so you can set up the pods exactly the same way each time. For power requirements, our devices have to be battery powered, which means we have to implement the basics of BMS. When you select an activity, the pods you will need for it begin blinking. The app tells you how to set up the pods, where you should start, and what to do. I really like that the app lets you adjust the activity settings to suit your preferences. You can, for instance, increase or decrease the activity duration, add a player if it's a competitive activity, and assign a color for each person. Most preloaded activities are set at less than a minute, but you can have them run for up to an hour. When you're ready, you can tap Start Now for the activity to begin right away, or Start on Hit for it to start when you hit a pod.
