Summoning can be used against not only monsters but also humans, elves, and even inorganic entities like golems. Enables the user to detect the presence of other individuals around a certain radius dependent on skill rank. Read until episode 5 now. People keeps saying that the MC is clever but I don’t really see anything clever about him. It’s the classic ”dumb villain think the MC is beneath him, tries to harm him, but turns out he is so OP the villain can only beg for mercy”

This school of magic is for manipulating wind and earth, and thanks to being quite well-balanced, provides the most flexibility in dealing with any situation.

Written by Doufu Mayoi, the series began publication online on Shōsetsuka ni Narō on October 6, 2014. The series was later acquired by Overlap, who began publishing the series with illustrations by Kurogin under their Overlap Bunko imprint on June 25, 2016. As of August 2021, fifteen volumes have been released. In July 2020, J-Novel Club announced they licensed the series for English publication. The ability to strip materials from corpses (human ones included). Clotho uses this to great efficacy as it first absorbs corpses and then directly transfers anything procured through Dismantle into its Storage. The ability to read a target’s Status. Can be used on living beings and items that haven't been analyzed yet. A higher skill rank offers more detailed information. Want to read an isekai with an intriguing (semi-cliche) story? Where the main character starts off powerful and continues to steamroll all those in his path? Where rather than following concepts of morals and ethics, the MC is just one huge battle-junkie? With a cast where every character is clearly defined, unique, and who’s relationships with eachother enhance the story? Look no further. When he died in an accident and was reincarnated, he paid for his own memories to increase his skill points. Due to the erasure of her memories and knowledge, the knowledge of the skills she acquired prior to her reincarnation has also disappeared. As her reincarnation bonus, she is given modern knowledge after her reincarnation and some money by Goddess Melfina. Even with the same episodic memory, he forgets " his own upbringing", " having used his memory as a price", and " falling in love with a goddess", whereas he forgets "the image of a certain famous game", and "a life without a bath is hard for Japanese people". There is a contradiction about the point that there is something I remember.

I gotta say it's off to a great start. I'm loving how the mc is quote "A battle junkie". Not only is he powerful but he's also smart and thinks up some pretty cool battle strategies. My fuel for manga that interests me has been running low recently, but this has totally been a refreshing manga and I can't wait to see where it goes. Which is why I'm actually going to read its novel to see what happens next!" The story takes place in a magical world, where the main protagonist Kelvin woke up one day, with no memory of his past life, having traded those memories in exchange for becoming a powerful Summoner. He sets out to explore this new world as an adventurer, gathering new friends and enemies along the way. The things that didn't make this good are probably how morally upright the MC is so he ends up being like a generic person apart from the battle junkie attitude he has which does make it more interesting but still doesn't outweigh the boringness of being an upstanding citizen like person which is just occasionally annoying and just disinteresting at this point, although I understand it's pretty much the default Japanese personality. The writing can be really janky at times, especially in the beginning. Yeah, the cringe is horrible. But as the plot develops, the writing improves and it becomes bearable. By the mistake of a god, a young man named Kelvin dies and agrees to be reincarnated into a new world with skills he chooses himself, in exchange for all memories except his name taken. Awakening in the new world he finds he choose to be a Summoner mage and the Goddess of Reincarnation, Melfina, is now his servant in the form of an interactive game menu. Arriving in the town of Parth he joins the Adventurers Guild as a basic mage, keeping his Summoner skill secret as Melfina explains Summoners are so rare and powerful, kings and nations would start wars to acquire him. He takes a job to slay slime monsters which leads to taming a slime and naming it Clotho, which also gives it a distinct personality. He learns from Melfina before reincarnating he made his Summoner class Rank S, the highest possible, making him the most powerful living Summoner, and as he is still only Level 1 he will become even more powerful as his Level increases. His skill also provides a massive boost to his summons as Clotho is now a hundred times stronger. Returning to Parth he is disturbed to find slavery is common in this world but tries not to think about it and instead rents a room for the night.Leo informs Kelvin Trycen has been increasing aggression against Gawn kingdom. Coincidentally, he sends Kelvin on his Rank S promotion exam, to complete a job for Leonheart Gawn, Beast-King of Gawn, by slaying a Rank S monster to save an elven village. Elven Chief Nelras mistakes Efil for his own daughter, Lumil, but realises his mistake. Kelvin is curious about Lumil and Nelras explains 20 years ago Lumil offered herself as sacrifice to save the village from a dragon. The dragon took her as his wife, but years later Lumil was found dead and fearing the dragons return, the elves fled to Gawn. Kelvin suspects Lumil was Efil’s mother, though her human father remains unknown as pregnancy between the dragon and Lumil would be impossible. Nelras reveals the monster has been kidnapping elves so Kelvin erects a stone barrier around the village. Trycen soldiers invade with monsters somehow under their command, but are killed by Efil using extremely long range archery magic. Their commander avoids capture by controlling the Rank S monster, a Gigant-Lord. The Gigant is defeated by Rion and Alex, only to transform into a flaming Gigant-Furnace. Rion defeats it again anyway and captures the commander. General Clive appears and almost kills Efil, who is saved by Kelvin. Kelvin realises Clive is strong and feels his Battle-Junkie instincts rising. An anime television series adaptation was announced on February 17, 2022. You know, I didn't expect I'd give this manga it's highest written review rating, but I can see why. This manga stumbles hard in the beginning, but enduring the first 18 chapters will let you see the beginning of what this manga blooms into: a battle-crazed MC pushing his limits in another world while both embracing and destroying various isekai tropes. Failure Hero: The reason Kelvin is summoned to the other world in hopes to whip the previous heroes into shape since their growth are dangerously underwhelming. Screw This, I'm Outta Here: One of Cashiel's party members decides to run away when he realizes Kelvin is hiding something. Kelvin summons Clotho to stop him.

He tends to play down his tendencies as a battle junkie, sometimes even denying it outright, albeit in a somewhat tongue-in-cheek manner that may or may not indicate self-awareness.
