I can see where the criticism on these dolls is coming from, but I think I would have absolutely loved them as a kid and I doubt whether they would've made me feel insecure in any type of way (other people caused that problem for me, never any dolls I played with, lmao). It isn’t really magic as such (I think we were expecting some kind of ‘wipe off to reveal’ type trick) but none the less Erin was super impressed with the mask and found it really clever!
I never saw any of the FailFix commercials, so I can't speak to those, but I actually feel like, if anything, the outlandish hair and goofy faces take some of the pressure off the idea of a flawless appearance. My fingers HURT from the tiny clips and elastics and they're sticky from the residual gel in the doll's hair. And if that wasn't enough, for each individual character, there are three different variations of face paint and outfit that can be found. I spent the evening combing out two doll's hair and then boiling washing all four of them and redoing their styles.Obviously DanceStylz’s hair is braided, but still becomes loose and free so it can easily be styled.

Cleaned up the dolls are beautiful, really very stunning dolls, but in the box they look AWFUL and the lack of any real photos of the product on the packaging is NOT going to inspire confidence in the product.
She's good as a display doll, as are the Rainbow High dolls, and I like her better than I do the Boxy Girls, but I wish there was. The Fail Fix Dolls MAGIC MASK is very clever (although it does look a little bit sinister I have to admit! my doll's hair feels unpleasantly like cotton candy, but I'm planning on rewigging her at some point. On the doll I got, the “fail” face is actually cuter than the “fixed” face – that gimmick could have been done so much better, why did they think it was cute/cool to peel off a doll’s face instead of just having some kind of wipe-away or color-change thing?
