It also takes an even smaller, more affordable 67mm filter size, but opts for a stepper motor-based autofocus drive. It is a bit on the short side for portraits closer than half length because as we close in the perspective becomes too steep and noses become too big and distorted. The FF photo will look darker at default settings, but when you lift it two stops in post it will be identical to the m43 photo, including noise levels and DOF. is about as bright as you're gonna get for a lightweight prime on M4/3 (with the exception of the PL25/1. Complementing the close-up capabilities, the optical design incorporates 8 elements in 6 groups with a extra-low dispersion element to deliver an unprecedented corner to corner sharpness.

The 35 and 40mm are better and can show better the effect of being there, near the action, as you can get closer with them. The 25mm focal length is equivalent to a 50mm lens on a 35mm format camera and offers the expected 47 degree angle of view. As I said repeatedly, this different iso is actually equal IQ (not number), but that's not what you are saying because I repeatedly said this and you are "correcting" me. on several Micro Four Thirds bodies, including the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM1 and Olympus OM-D E-M5 II. We found the E-M1 III's in-body stabilization alone sufficient not just to shoot or record video handheld, but even to give very stable walk-and-talk video footage. It takes well under a second to fully rack focus, so you can be confident that regardless of focal length, you'll be able to handle unexpected changes in subject distance with ease. The lens bayonets smoothly and securely onto the Panasoni Lumix G6 camera body used for this review. is a fairly small lens, although it’s not as compact as Olympus’s equivalent or Panasonic’s slimline 20mm f/1. The extra-low dispersion element reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations for a high degree of clarity. With a well-developed, high-performance stepping motor, focusing action is fast, smooth and silent, ideal for use in both photo and video recording.

This is a very good level of performance overall, and images should be bright, sharp and attractive throughout the range. Thanks to the compact focusing system, you have highly precise AF, which is also ideal for capturing beautiful bokeh with nearly circular and natural-coloured effects - even at night.Getting into photography and gearing up with a decent camera and a selection of lenses is a serious commitment.

The compact, lightweight H-H025 LUMIX G 25mm is a fast standard lens designed for LUMIX G DSLMs and the Micro Four Thirds system standard. In fact, we found ourselves wishing we had a second copy of the lens with which to shoot our DPReview TV footage, which you'll find towards the end of this page below. You're not really going to get big bokeh balls unless you're shooting wide-open and near to the 25mm telephoto, so if they're what you're looking for, opt for a lens with a stronger telephoto and/or a wider aperture with a more uniform circle-of-confusion. It's worth noting that in Capture One, LCA correction slightly softened the image (we shot on an OM-D E-M1 III), and since it was so subtle to begin with, we actually preferred to leave the correction off altogether.

I suppose it can blur backgrounds better, but then again the FL is not what I would use for blurring.
