If I can, I'd like to source the parts myself, then take it to a specialist and get it fitted, but to do that I need to know exactly how it needs sorted and what bits to get. I checked to make sure that the holes in the exhaust and the chassis bracket are large enough to allow the bolt to pivot through a large angle, ensuring that the load is always on the rubber spacers rather than being a shear load on the bolt. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. I don't think there's much need to allow for linear vertical movement other than to provide some cushioning of shock loads causes by the inertia of the silencer over bumps etc.

As suggested by 7 Wonders an Aerolock nut or even two nuts locked against each other may be an alternative solution.

I must admit I don't see the advantage of a poly bush isolator for something like an exhaust, though.

A belted hanger for a Ford 3/4 ton pickup truck was cut to length and used at the front of the rear subframe.
