Description

Double Speed-Wax is not an abrasive polish, if your paintwork is faded, feels rough or has not been polished for a long period it will be necessary to use an abrasive polish and/or paint clay before application. Regularly applying wax to your car has a whole host of benefits, let’s take a look at the most obvious ones; It’s supplied in a 250ml tin and includes an applicator pad and microfiber cloth. We really like the inclusion of the applicator pad and microfiber cloth, it gives you everything needed to get the job done in one hit and at the modest price point of Double Speed Wax it’s a really nice touch.

The carnauba wax used provides a deep rich glossy, highly water repellent and detergent resistant film.

Quick Guide

Cleaning enthusiasts who attend Concours d'Elegance events get terribly in-depth on the subject. That's fine, but their recommendations are frequently too expensive for regular Joes. But don’t worry, we know of effective car wax that doesn't cost you an arm and a leg. I find the product isn’t the easiest to apply and can be quite difficult to remove. I tried different methods of application and removal, none of which seemed to work very well and made waxing my car feel like a chore (when usually it is therapeutic). All natural wax will need reapplying every six weeks or so and will protect your paintwork from UV rays, water and other contaminants. With that done, use a clean microfiber cloth to wipe the wax away, just as you would if applying wax by hand. Job done. First, ensure that the polisher has the softest pad attachment fitted. Then, take your wax bottle and dot the polisher pad with wax at its extremities. Four reasonably small dots should be enough. Then, on a slow speed setting, use the polisher to apply wax across the selected panel.. Again, no need to apply any pressure here either, just guide the polisher across the panel.

Sadly no pics but probably an obvious point that the car must be thoroughly prepped and washed before applying to see the best results. Most waxes should be applied after you’ve washed the car and dried it with a chamois leather or microfiber cloth. Work on shaded cool panels. Using the sponge applicator provided apply in light circular motions extremely sparingly and allow to dull for approx 5-10 minutes. Buff to a high shine using the blue micro fibre cloth provided - turn frequently. The carnauba wax used provides a deep rich and glossy, highly water repellent and detergent resistant film.Remember this one simple rule – ALWAYS polish BEFORE wax. Never apply a polish after a wax, doing so will remove the wax and undo all your hardwork and also leave the paintwork unprotected. double speed-wax is an easy to use last stage paste wax for the protection of highly finished automobile paint systems. Work on shaded cool panels. Dampen the sponge applicator provided and wring out as much as possible before use. Using the sponge applicator apply in light circular motions extremely sparingly and allow to dull for approx 5-10 minutes. Wax paste is the type of wax we’ve covered most in this article, so we’ll start there. What you want to do is get some paste onto your applicator pad and then, using as little pressure as possible, spread the wax across one of your car’s body panels. You can work in circles or straight lines, whichever you prefer, ensuring that the whole panel is covered. Just remember, less is more when it comes to the amount of wax you use.

Collinite 476s Super Doublecoat Auto Wax delivers stunning results and an extremely respectable price point, you really can’t go wrong. After APC'ing and rinsing, I used Gtechniq's G-Wash shampoo before rinsing, drying and applying a layer of Poorboy's polish. There are a huge range of products available for protecting your car’s paintwork but which wax is the best and why? We take a look at the best waxes on the market and break down the differences between them. Enthusiasts can take the subject of car wax extremely seriously. Mention it to a group of petrolheads and you’ll receive numerous detailed suggestions and advice. These can frequently be eye-wateringly expensive and therefore, quite off-putting. But don’t worry, we know of effective car wax that doesn’t cost you an arm or a leg. This very much depends on the wax that you’re using. Some waxes will only last for a short period of time such as 6-8 weeks, after this period of time they’ll stop protecting the paintwork and will need to be re-applied. Some waxes such as Soft99 Fusso Coat will last anywhere up to 12 months. That said, even using a wax such as Fusso, we would advise applying a wax a minimum of twice per year. Ceramic wax is the next big thing in car wax. Proper ceramic waxing is best left to the experts thanks to the long curing time required, but it will leave a hard coating that can last for years. There are also hybrid ceramic options that blend synthetic wax with silicon dioxide ceramic to give you similar results that you can do yourself. Available as a paste, spray or liquid it won’t last as long as proper ceramic coating but it's far easier to apply.
