About this deal

Another firm favourite from our testing. These shoes from Adidas are one of the pricier shoes you’ll find, but they feature unique technology that we believe warrants the higher price point. The SH-A922 (not the catchiest name we’ll admit) is one of Victor’s headline shoes – here’s what they offer: Often, you will see the first signs of wear on the sole. Your shoe will develop smooth spots, and much like tires on a car, you will have a difficult time having the traction you need to support your game.

Designed in a few different colors and suited for both men and women, the Salming Kobra Shoe is another of the leading squash shoes. The Salming Kobra provides firm and stable positioning for players in the midst of fabric and mesh. This feature is great for foot ventilation. Seeing that squash is a fast-paced and rigorous moving game, the more flexible the footwear, the better the player is able to manage their game play. For some players, you may not be able to find a shoe that is perfectly comfortable. If you find a shoe that meets your other needs and is within your budget, you can make minor adjustments to the shoe by looking for after-market insoles or adjusting how you lace the shoe. How do I care for my squash shoes? Like Babolat, Victor’s primary market is badminton. However, with some fairly high profile endorsements from German #1 Raphael Kanrda, as well as up-and-coming British talent Jasmine Hutton, it’s not uncommon to see their products in squash player’s bags. Another area of comfort is provided by the weight of the shoe. There are many different shoes to choose from that will be variable in weight, and this is another factor that comes down to personal choice. Lighter shoes – it should be remembered – will perhaps not be as durable as heavier ones, but if your shoes are too heavy you will not be happy moving around. For one thing, I feel like that will damage or dirty the squash courts. But more importantly, I feel like that will negatively impact how well my shoes grip the court. I don’t want to risk getting injured, even over something small like that. How long do squash shoes last?

The upper and inner are synthetic materials designed for toughness and also to be as light as possible, while the gum sole is the usual combination of outer and mid-sole for grip and agility. It’s a non-marking design, which we would expect with any specific court shoe. As with most on our list this shoe is designed for wearers with normal width feet; if you have narrow or wide feet, it’s recommended you talk to an expert for advice. You will find that most squash shoes are fitted with white or orange soles: this is to help ensure that your shoes do not leave a mark on the floor of the court, which is one area of etiquette in the game of squash. Overall, for me personally I have mixed emotions about the feel of these shoes. Their rigid structure is fantastic for stability, however I found the tighter fitting made them a little less comfortable in longer matches. The feel of a shoe is certainly down to personal preference, and I’m confident that if the top players in the world are wearing these shoes, then they’ve been designed the way they are with a great deal of thought. It’s definitely worth trying these shoes on to see how they feel on your own feet before purchasing them. What does or doesn’t work for me might not be the same for you. Durability While some athletic shoes will be able to support some of those goals, very few of them will have the same support as a shoe that is designed to meet the needs of a game of squash. Squash is a game where you will spend a lot of time running, stopping, and turning. You will need to be very agile and you need a shoe that supports that kind of movement. The SH A922 combines Energymax 3.0and Light Resilient EVAto provide exceptionally comfortable and resistant cushioning

First and foremost, the outsole on the Rush Pro 2.5 squash shoes is a denser type of rubber that is more durable on this type of surfaces, seeing that it’s abrasion-resistant. A classic herringbone pattern will ensure proper grip, and the Pro Torque Chassis will provide the required stability during lateral movements, as it prevents any type of torsion within the sole unit. When the soles are getting completely worn, the sole may start to separate. These are shoes that are not safe and desperately need to be replaced. Shoes in this condition should not be used for squash. Inner cage helps reinforce the shoes. This is both necessary and welcome, given their relatively thin fabric upper.
